About bloody time they left the rules alone. Pity they didn't remove the stupid hands in the back interpretation.

Hands in the back rule is a blight on the game.

Totally agree. Lost count of how many times last year I screamed out "Contact wing defence" last year after yet another SOFT decision based on this "interpretation".

Nice one TD :hihi

Unfortunately I am over this, stubborn as hell Vlad and the Rules Committee were never going to change their mind just to prove to the rest of us "ignorant" people they is right >:(

It's a great rule, best rule ever implemented. Please leave it alone. ;) Adolf you doing a sterling job. No wonder you could afford a 7 million dollar mansion down on the bay. :hihi

Picture vlad & co sitting, sitting, thinking, thinking..."what other rule can we change.."It certainly gets feedback from all the supporters... :-X

leave the rule alone. we are getting more contested marks and players going the ball than ever since the interpretation was changed in the 80's. have a go at some of our dumb players who wont change their style of play and adapt!!!!

Stricter application of the existing rule was all that was required. You've never been allowed to PUSH a bloke in the back, but they go soft on it (and Richo gets crucified! - I'm not biased....much.)

Police the old rule tighter and all should be fine, but taking away the umps discretion (oxy moron?) and telling them that they must blow the whistle if they see anything is obviously ridiculous.

I'll tell you what I wanted to see; a Daryl Hare - spelling anyone? - style "thumb of the nose" by the umps to the rules committee, if they didn't like the rule they shouldn't have paid it and have the balls to take the slack if it came. For once they'd have had the popular support! :D

What's wrong with you people? Andrew lets us follow his game that he invented and own's and all you can do is complain about it, you ungrateful so and so's, he doesn't have to allow us to join in the fun, I think Andrew might pack up his game and take it home, if people don't start showing some appreciation for his vision, I am ashamed of you all! Long live King Andrew!

About time no change happened, but they should've reverse this stupid "hands in the back rule".

Its a pity the ump didn't use it in the GF as they had during the season. Maybe they were embarssed the rest of the wrold would see this crap for what it was worth.

I say continue the rage next year. The AFL are not arrogant, they are just plain dumb & ignorant to its affect !
