PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Time is getting away a bit so although I'm still trying to chase up pledged contributions to the PRE's annual player sponsorship, and anyone is still welcome to join in, it might be an idea if people who have paid nominate which players they'd like to sponsor this year.

I'm not sure how many players we'll be sponsoring yet but if everyone puts in 6 nominations we'll check their availability in order of preference. Some players will be fully sponsored by this stage so if unavailable might possibly need to be replaced by any without sponsors.

My choices.

1-Daniel Jackson-We were Dan's first and only sponsor in his first eyar at the club and we've sponsored him every year since. Dan really appreciates, and is humbled by our support. He writes a note each year thanking us (good manners and appreciation go a long way in my book) and has shown a willingness to answer questions for PREnders.

2-Shane Tuck- As with Dan we sponsored Tucky when nobody else did. We felt he was harshly treated in his early days and not given the chances we thought he deserved leading to many posts calling for his selection. Along with Dan, Shane is a tough nut who gives his all.

3-Mark Coughlan- I love Cogs' attitude and know the effort he has put in to be able to repay RFC and the supporters for their faith in him, as he so desperately wishes to do. I'm hoping he has a serious change of luck not only for his personal sake, but because he's the player we so badly need in the team. I'd love to show him how much the fans support him and are behind him all the way.

4-Matty White- It seems Matty is flavour of the month these days...probably largely to to my Presidency in his early days. ;D Another who I admire immensely for giving his all and working his bum off to be where he is at this stage of his career.

5-Alex Rance- Gotta have an up and coming backman in the mix..Fingers crossed he can step up this season

6-Tyrone Vickery- My gut instinct is Ty will become a very popular player for us...besides I love his hair.

Beacuse 3 of my selections aren't available I'll change to

Browne..can't have a formker Bushranger having no sponsors.
Moore..love his efforts as a backman
Putt

It would be appreciated if everyone who has made their payment towards player sponsorship could indicate their preferences on this thread. :)

IMPORTANT EDIT

I contacted Rachael about player availability and below is a list of players still available for sponsorship (those in italics have no sponsors at this stage).

I made a decision, based on votes so far and shortage of time, to stake a tentative claim on Jacko, Tucky and Cogs before they became booked out. Whitey isn't available. That isn't set in stone so if anyone has any objections please contact me to discuss it.

BTW although rookies haven't been up for sponsorship in the past the club has decided they can be sponsored this year.

We need to select a couple of players from the list below.

Troy Simmonds
Shane Edwards
Jordan McMahon
Kayne Pettifer
Luke McGuane
Dean Putt
Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls
Mark Coughlan
Jay Schulz
Shane Tuck
Kane Johnson
Adam Thomson
David Gourdis
Cleve Hughes
Jarrod Sylvester
Robin Nahas
Kelvin Moore
Andrew Browne
Angus Graham
