Interaction between coach, players and crowd is inevitable and part of the game and the footy experience. I feel very sad that this fellow took his own life and I feel deeply for those he has left behind but as many have already stated on this thread, he had mental health issues. However, isolating the coach or players from the crowd is an over-reaction. Negative experiences are the exception, not the rule - I hope elitism never rears its ugly head in the AFL as it will indicate that we are following the path of the USA - a litigous society. Open the door even a crack with that one and watch the flood begin.
