Not all gloom and doom!!!

A long time avid reader and infrequent poster, I am finally tempted to post and vent my disappointment.

I am disappointed with this year’s performances, but some here have over-reacted and swallowed the crap the media(all forms) have spewed out, most notably after the Pies game. IMO, and I am sure TW would agree, the most disappointing aspect of this year’s performances is the lack of leadership from our so-called senior players, especially when things are not going our way. Our younger players have carried us so far. They have and will make mistakes, during a match. However, I expect our senior players to lead the way not a 20 year old. This is the area TW has highlighted as an area of concern, so why the surprise? It is not all gloom and doom. Our group of kids are good, if only our senior personnel were.

Also, regarding the media crap. The Pies fielded a more experienced side than us, it is spread far wider in their playing list. In particular in BIG games. How many BIG games have they played in? How many finals games have they played? How many Grand Finals have they played compared to us? All of conveniently ignored. You cannot beat exposure to such games. On Friday, when the going got tough, it was the Rocca’s, Burn’s, Licuria’s, O’Bree, etc that lifted. Where was our senior group?

That’s all for now, call me an optimist.

Not all gloom & doom.We are 0-3,play the doggies & west coast then we have some interstate trips. We should call this boom.

No it's we'll get the no 1 draft pick at the end of the season. I'm surprised the darksiders aren't dancing in the streets. Bottoming out, boys. Isn't this what you've prayed for?

Really good post, share your sentiments exactly! :clap

Those that have responded by highlighted the fact we are 0-3 have completely misunderstood the gist of Untamed's post unfortunately. :help

We've done enough bottoming out.

Totally agree.
It's the media who work the poor old Tiger supporters and our club into a sweat.
I say *smile* em.

Lots of positives out of all the gloom-Tambling for one.

A full squad ,we could have been 3-0

Jack had a great game for Coburg on the weekend too going by reports.

Looking positive for the future.

Praying for it is probably the wrong way to describe it, although it's probably what we need to do. Nevertheless it would still be annoying because if it happened it would be indisputable proof that our list building approach over the last couple of years has been a failure. That those years were wasted and we will just have to wait that much longer as a result for a true shot at success (And needless to say if that happened Wallaces and Millers credibility would be in total ruins).

This team is crying out for some youthful enthusaism.

If the suntanned one doesnt heed to this he has some serious %#%#% problems

Well, since this season is relatively shot, we should just bloody every kid we have. We will be 10 times better off next year.

Exactly, this is the stuff that you do when you know your season almost offically over. I know its only about a 10% chance, but theres still a tad bit of hope, so why make 5-6 changes and bring in almost every kid...

0 – 3 could easily have been 3 – 0. What makes me shake my head is that we have looked good and bad during each one of the games, NO consistency. We lack polish, in both disposal and decision making, especially when under little pressure. That disappoints. Yet we have got ourselves into a winning position at 3/4 time in each game. What REALLY grates me is the lack of fight and leadership when things are not going our way. No-one made a stand, no-one tried to change the flow.

No leadership - senior players please stand up.

As an aside, have just read about our youngsters today for Coburg. Sounds exciting. That is the reason for my optimism.
