Although Rory is my example in this thread it is really a general observation relevant to many players.

I haven't had time to watch our game against the Cats yet but reading the gloating from certain PREnders who seem to revel in their scapegoats failures it seems Rory was well beaten.

Is it fair to vent such vitriol towards a player if they're just not good enough? Rory is hardly an elite backman of the competition and he was playing on a pretty slick forward.

Shouldn't some of the credit for our situation go to previous recruiting leaving our list with more holes than a sieve?

If Rory was left on a player who was taking him to the cleaners does that mean Terry thought he was still our best option? Surely he'd be moved if that wasn't the case?

If Rory was selected in the first place does that mean we didn't have any better options for the job?

Sure it's frustrating when a player isn't up to the task for whatever reason but it doesn't tell the full story and I don't think hanging all our frustrations on one person is very productive or sensible.

Unfortunately it takes time to re-float a sunken ship and get it sailing again. We just have to hope with all our hearts we've finally got the right crew on board to do it properly for a change.

Don't worry anymore about Rory Rosy, Bossman says he's gone. Perhaps the argument also plays true for Petts.

Agree, as usual, to the balance in your argument Rosy. But there is a culture of blame that exists today and someone has to made responsible - or so it seems. No, Rory is no gun, just like at least 159 other footballers that were on AFL lists this season.

On a lighter note, if you watched "Beyond Tomorrow" the other night Rosy, you'd know that we need at least 25,000 ping pong balls to re-float a sunken ship - and I don't know that the RFC can afford that many just yet :hihi

Johnson beat Rory on the weekend and apart from trying Bowden on him for a while, TW left him there. Agree with Rosy, it would not have been pleasant watchin the young Jackson trying to shut him down, obvioulsy TW didn't want to watch that either.

Rory, is no backman, forward or midfielder. He is purely a utility to plug holes IMO. Johnson was too slick b/c Rory was just not good enough, and we can't use that 'knee' injury as an excuse.

TW has been plugging the leaks in the sinking ship, but it will be taken in the dry dock for a major overhaul.

This coming draft will be vital to see how quick this ship sails the open seas again!
