PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I was following the last quarter on the AFL site. There is a "worm" that is displayed to show the possessions and the flow of the ball. There was just too much backwards and sideways movement. The more we possess the greater the chance of a turnover...and that is when we pay big time. I understand that football has become a possession game, but how far can this style take us? I say sure let's pass it around but not backwards or sideways. It is time to give free reign to Deledio, Tambling, Foley and Raines to take players on and the way to do this is to give it to these players as they are in full stride NOT when they are stationary, an example of this is the way Rohan Smith used to play for the Dogs.

A possession game will only be damaging when it is teamed with forward aggressive ball carrying in numbers!

Your thoughts ladies and gentlemen?
