Hey Rhett this one is for you. I was wondering...when I had nothing better to do at 4 am....about the numbers our players wear all the associated traditions and so forth and some stupid question popped into my mind.

Who was the last #1 at our club never to play a senior game? I can go as far back as Daryl Cumming and even that dud Banik managed a game. I think I have the answer but wonder if anyone else can knows someone.

I just struggled to think of who our #1 was last year.  I haven't quite adjusted to that change yet.  Any further back than that I'm no use at all.  :old

Can't answer the question, however the following list of senior games played for Richmond in #1 may be of interest:

263   Percy Bentley 1925-1940
217   Mark Lee 1979-1991
146   Paddy Guinane 1958-1968
142*  Barney Herbert 1912-1921
95   John Nix 1949-1956
88   Daryl Cumming 1971-1977
82   Rory Hilton 1999-2005
78** Dan Minogue 1920-1925
59   Ron Durham 1943-1948
56   Michael Gale 1996-1998
13   Chris Newman 2006
11   John Einsiedel 1978
10   Tony Jewell 1969
  5   Steven O'Dwyer 1992-1993
  5   Joe Hinson 1942
  1   Bob Walliker 1942

*   Herbert played another 50 games 1909-1911 before guernsey numbers were introduced
** Minogue wore #1 for at least one game in 1920; the actual number could be slightly higher
