When all is said and done we have had a pretty good year despite not making the finals.

With West Coast being belted today by Freo, comes a golden opportunity for the biggest momentum leap for 2007 we could wish for.
If it wasn't for Richo last night we would have lost, well here is the chance for the team to redeem itself and really have a scalp to brag about over summer.

We took them all the way to the line last year at the "G", no reason why we can't do it again.

Hall won't play, neither should Chaffey. ( and this is fine by me....) Bring in Kellaway and another kid for Chaffey

Terry needs to make this the "Crunch game" for the season.

It's a shame we didn't beat Hawthorn earlier in the year........cos this game would have been massive.

Also all the 7 of the top 8 struggling for form, would have been good to make it....all good always next year.

Hawthorn was the only game we dropped to a team below us - a very honest performance for the year.

We've also only won 2 from 11 against top 8 teams, which shows we don't belong there yet. Next week is a good chance against a side with nothing to gain and who may well be looking after themselves a bit (maybe even resting players).

If it wasn't for my long game and short game I would be on the PGA.

I was thinking about this earlier. Make this the Crunch Game, pump the boys up and let them rip the heads off those Weagles.
Winning the last 4 will have everyone at the club pumped about next year and rarring to go when training starts again. It happened with the Doggies this year and they are playing in September.

According to AAP the Eagles have already beaten us.

"As for West Coast, the pain of two losses in a season to the Dockers will be eased with a win against Richmond at the MCG next weekend, which would confirm the minor premiership."

A win against the Weagles would be the best way for us to finish 2006

I disagree that this game has no significance for the Eagles. They will be smarting after being spanked and will want to prove they deserve to be the league leaders. Also im worried about being smashed out of the centre again.

best bit if we win next week..........

WE BEAT THE CATS!!!!
yes i'm bitter & twisted

Agree Bull.

This game means nothing to the Eagles & I expect then to drop the game. They would be more intent to be preparing & trying maybe different positional setups at the G for the finals & managing players to prepare for the following week.

The Eagles will be thinking of the following week.
Wouldnt suprise me to see the likes of Judd & Cousins "rested"

We've got a "free hit" at the Eagles, with nothing to lose. Good opportunity for the kids to match themselves against the best. Can't see us beating them though. Worsfold will want them going into the finals with a win and some confidence, so they won't be just going through the motions.

Beware the wounded Eagle

What coach wouldn't want his team to enter a finals campaign in a winning frame of mind

What coach wouldn't want his team to smash "an also ran" by 100+ points before a finals campaign - confidence plus!

Knowing Worsfold he will be angry at the effort from his players yesterday and they will be out to make him happy

The players would want to be in a winning frame of mind - not just limping into first or second spot.

The Eagles will want to disprove their MCG hoodoo - plus put a shot across the bows of all other finalists - they will want to defecate upon us from a big height!

Will Kerr be back for the Eagles this week - if so - they will be a different mid-field to the one that collapsed after quarter time against the dockers

This game will really be an eye-opener for our young footballers - for this game will show them what they have to become to play (and be a chance) in an AFL finals series...........

Make no mistake the eagles are preparing to smash us by 100pts+

We have a great opportunity to make this our final and see where we would of ended up against a leauge leader.

This is going to be a very exiting game and I look forward to seeing how we go against them.
