Pity we couldnt get it to richo earlier like we did in the last quarter.....

thats exactly what the Tigers are doing at the minute....

Crikey we've had the turning circle of the Queen Mary

If you told me Neitz would be goaless and Melbourne score 70 points I would of expected a win. I think we lost it in the first quarter and a half. We should of been more attacking after half time like the last quarter.

All in all not a bad effort, get more games into the kids and build for the future.

Watch the 1st & 4th quarters and we did OK. 2 & 3 we struggled to be competitive and only Melbourne's poor kicking saved us from further humiliation.

I'm not happy with that performance at all. If we sit back and think that was an OK effort then we'll struggle to make the finals.
When oh when will we kick a decent score? 2 goals to half time? Under 12s kick more than that.

Melbourne must be baffled how they didn't win by 10 goals.

We must expect more from our team and learn to cope with being in the spotlight.

ok effort? - my arse!!! We should have been belted by 8 goals if not for their bad kicking. We used it terribly, we had no idea what to do with it & just plain refused to do the hard work 1%'ers which have won us the last couple of games. We played as individuals. You just can't try to play like a millionaire when you have 50c in the bank.

Agreed Zipper if anyone is happy with that performance of the side as opposed to some very nice individual efforts then the cursed tiger acceptance of mediocrity is well set in stone.
A few individual efforts aside twas a very dissapointing performance highlighting poor decision making, slow ball movement, turnovers by the truckload, and lack of chase, and pressure at the contest.
Not the kids fault tho, same old senior players fair square didnt turn up tonight, some physically some mentally.

Thats my point,Zips,Mexican radio and Craig......
The young Tigers to learn from their mistakes...and have to learn how to deal with media beat-ups and overwhelming publicity.
My post wasnt an endorsment of the teams effort last nite......it was trying to put a positive spin out of a negative performance......the key to performing at the highest level is to narrow the margin btween your best and worst performances.
Having said that,I dont expect the tigers to win more than 4 games for the rest of the season..if they do win more it will be a pleasant bonus...like the performances of our younger players.

enough of positive spins now, Nitro. It's time to start telling it how it is when they put in a doozy like last night. It's just the same old scenario - A couple of good wins leading up to the big Friday night stage against a decent side. Plenty of Richmond articles in the newspapers, blah, blah blah & then BANG! We put in an absolute shocker. It's like cutting & pasting straight out of the last few years. Just very disappointed with last night's effort. (I feel better now, having got that off my chest) :)

I know you guys are frustrated....ive got to remind myself that I gorged meself on a smorgasbord of tiger success in the late sixties/seventies and 1980...and maybe it doesnt cut me deep as much as it does others....
hey....ill put it another way.....
We got 2 very public floggings......100 point plus....bounced back the following week......
Last night...we played like Nar Nar Goon under 11,s....and got beaten by 18 points by a team that is being touted as Victorias best chance at a flag this year......
How much would have we won by last night if we had actually played well? :hihi :hihi :hihi :hihi
Sorry,Im an emotioanally challenged, intellectual retard who loves my Tigers so much...I want to cuddle em and feed em Doggie Chews.....although there are times when I want to give em tabasco sauce when theyre expectin choccies and cream..........Hang in there guys...dont lose the faith..And....leave the opposition trolls to me..... ;D ;D

Spot on TT - they should have been 8-10 goals up by 3/4 time. That said we did well to shake it off and show some heart in the last quarter even though the Dees had it in the bag.

Good man nitro, your heart is in the right place.

I think last night showed the relative positions of both clubs, Demons are a few years more advanced than us. We have a much younger team who still has a lot to learn. Melbourne were in a similar position to us 3-4 years ago.
Considering how badly we played, I think the 18 point margin was flattering. I full expected the margin to be double that. In recent years past we would have been trounced by 10 goals or more if we played that badly against the Demons.
They did have a crack in the last quarter to try & bring some respectability to the score.
We are still a few players & a bit of game experience short of being a good team.

I wouldnt of thought the Demons would of been happy with the way they played either last night. Should of wrapped the game up by half time in reality.....I'd certainly take a 18 point defeat over what could of been though.

Gives TW some real ammo to work with this week against the Swans up there though and we usually come back pretty hard after ordinary performances.

Thats what I reckon tuby.....been through these up and down scenarios before.....A bit like stock market trading dont cha reckon?
I still luv my Tigers no matter what......... :hearton ;D

OK, so we would have got belted by more IF the Dess had of kicked better. Well, by that reasoning IF we had of kicked better and the Dees stayed the same the margin may have been less, or possibly even in our favour. We were soundly beaten and never in the contest because of our poor disposal but I think the margin is fair, maybe flatters us slightly as we kicked the last three goals.

But pplz, sign of a good side is when they dont play well still get the result... We played the best Victorian club at their best ground aswell and the score board had us lose by a few goals.... many supporters would have taken that result b4 the game as they thought we were no match for the dees and were looking at a flogging!
