Just finished watching the Saints vs Geelong game and am still gobsmacked at the difference to any Richmond game I have seen since 1995...
Every player on the list should be made to watch that game.
In every aspect of the game we are so far behind I actually can no longer see any hope for us, not so much because of the list we have but more the mentality.
I saw two teams absolutely busting their guts to win a game. Constant, unrelenting pressure ALL over the ground. Repeated acts of courage and desperation. Impeccable skills even under immense pressure. Two teams that NEVER stopped running, moving, leading, shepherding etc etc etc.
Tackles were laid with INTENT. Players were constantly going on gut busting runs through the corridor then running just as hard the other way when the ball came back. There was barely an uncontested possesion all game. Players threw themselves at the ball whether it was on the ground or in the air. The speed of the game was astonishing.
I saw two teams give 100% for a WHOLE game.
I can't remember a single moment from a Richmond game this year that even belongs in a game like that (I'm sure there are a few, just none come to mind).
We have a long way to go......
