With *smile* agreeing to new terms who do we target in the PSD?

Do we target someone who is available with our pick 5 or use it , can we, say if for a rookie listed player(s) ?.

I know the club has stated(Terry) that he was after a player in the 22-26 i think.

I believe with *smile* signed there isnt really a player that may suit our needs at this point of time.

Some people are saying Lappin, some Woewoddin, i started a thread to get feedback re Cupido, we are looking at Green, the club says they have talked to Haynes.

What will happen ?

I would like a mature aged body, a hard at it type, thats why i had originally hoped we could have had a go at Pickett, but thats my own opinion.

Thanks

I don't think we should pass, but if there are no experienced players good enough to pick up then we should just draft a potential draftee that wasn't picked up in the National Draft, a la Eddie Betts last year.

Exploring all possibilites is the right thing to do. I hope that they keep looking at all options but the priorities should be to find either a key position player or another strong-bodied midfielder. Most of the players around are flankers and peripheral types who don't give us anything. if no one suitable falls out, then save the money for rookies.

Hows bout a young key back such as Scott Meyer seeing how we have no future key densive prospects at the club at all apart from Thursfield who will be a third tall for the next 2 to 3 years until he develops physically.
That just seems like common sense to me but we will probably draft some dud from another club who has played 18 games in 4 years or somthing like that who will provide nothing for the future development of the tigers.
To be personally honest i would rather the tigers take no one in the PSD and add another rookie or two to the list.
We need talented youngsters who have a future to offer not polyfiller gap stoppers for 12 months. W\
The club already has its share of these types under contract. :P

Another 1year performance based contract for a delisted player is on the horizon I feel. IMHO.

Feel like i am on the Titanic at times watching deck chairs being re arranged :-\

Doing what Carlton did and picking up an overlooked player who might be the goods the way they did with Betts wouldn't be the worst option in this situation.

Though I wouldn't personally be happy with the outcome, does this mean that drafting Michael Rix remains a possibility....
