(Memo to Krak and other designated crumbers....DO NOT FLY FOR ANY MARKS UNLESS YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN!)...crumb at the feet and tackle any defender trying to run it out.

Good points too Liverpool.

Especially liked the one re crumbers. The same could be said for our backline too. Too many goals have been kicked against us when all of our defenders have gone up for the mark and one of their forwards has stayed behind the pack, got the ball as it spilled out, and kicked a goal.

"...our forward structure is unbalanced and unco-ordinated...the delivery to them is poor...just need that extra bit of concentration and confidence to grab the goals....we had countless scoring opportunities ...the forwards lie down too easily when the opposition take the ball off them..."

:clap

The sooner we get rid of the same players who've made the same mistakes for some 5 to 10 years, or longer, the better we'll become.

Watching Foley and Polo playing through the middle last night was heartening. They both showed an ability to win the hard ball and then they were able to link up to move the ball quickly. Polo, particularly, was involved in many of the effective forward thrusts.

They are just babies but they are prepared to work their way into the game.

The Doggies seemed to find space forward of the centre line, we didn't it. All their goals seemed to come terribly easily, ours didn't. They had classy finishers, we didn't.

How to fix it - buggered if I know.

Well it's my first post on Pre and I've been driven to it after years of lurking by the pathetic ravings of people on this forum.

It embarasses me that players might read most of the rubbish. They clearly want to win and should have won against Collingwood, but in Footscray they came up against a much better team. What sublime skills Footscray showed. If on the tigers could do this.

There's been lots of suggestions but let's stay positive and HOPE!

Yes,

I thought the centre square rotations worked alot better this time.

Hi JB,
This is my first post, after some encouragement from others in here to get in and have a look... here I am.
Tiges are in real trouble mate, its really disappointing and what worries me is the defensive attitude of many at the club, Greg Miller and David King...I am a Miller fan...only just.
King's rant on SEN today was appalling, if thats the mindset of a key coach at the joint...it speaks volumes for the inner sanctum. Fancy asking the media to be constructive in their criticism, the guy he was referring to was David Schwarz, but Schwarter answered it very succinctly and I had to agree with him. Mentally the side is weak, it can't press on when the game is there to be won, (3 times so far) we are too small across many parts of the ground and I think Terry Wallace had better start looking over his shoulder because small bodies speedy types aint gonna win us much in the lead up to 2011. Gas was finished last year, why they got rid of AK I will never know...we are undersized down back, Polak got some ball last night, Newman, Tambling, Foley, Hyde, Raines, Deludio, Tuck and MaGuane are gonna be ok. The established group like Bowden, Richo, Johnson...can all retire gracefully in a few years...but the deadheap smells of Tivendale, *smile* and Pettifer (sorry but he's too slow and his defensive game is poor and goes missing when its tight and he's no Daffy at HFF) I think that Symonds will work his way back..*smile* could be a Fevola type if he gets stronger, this may be harsh but King is just too small. I see more questions and gaps than I do answers and fillers atm...and just go around in circles....I was so looking forward to seeing Cogs this year!

Gaspar qualified for the veterans list, AK didn't, simple as that

He was finished last year...thats a fact, can't kick, too slow and gets tangled up...Vet's list is being way too kind!

Osh gosh to think that all we have there is *smile* or the ghost of A Kellaway. I was ashamed and embarassed to see them on Friday night. To see the utter bumbling and indecision in the back line, it was laughable, and on a national stage. It was a defining moment for the season, seeing RFC putting out a second rate team, cut to pieces again and again, and then bending over to gasp for breath on their knees as another goal sailed in. Then go forward and kick blindingly to no hope. Shameful, second rate, and I have to wait for next season. Go tigers.

I've yet to view the video of the game.

I got up early this morn to do just that but, as usual, started reading PRE and still haven't got around to watching the video.

I tape our games even when I watch the delayed game as I find seeing them again a day or two later often shows up something that I missed at first.

Just a couple of points:

Does anyone recall those long bombs of Lids when he first started with us? I believe he favoured the occasional torp, sending them deep into the forward line. A very good way of beating any effort at flooding. Instead, I saw him the other night handballing sideways, backwards - kick it, lad!

Yes, I have long bemoaned the fact that we have no crumbers. I am sure that Richo would love to be able to tap down to a lurking small and would be pleased to celebrate the resultant goal - Richo is a team man no matter the criticism of him that is so popular on this site.

So, we've got some injuries. The Crows currently have an injury list of 18 - 18! - yet it didn't stop them beating the Swans.

D-Rod is doing ok at Port, only kicked one goal this week but still mentioned among the best in their defeat of the Wobblers.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that there is something wrong at Richmond.

I can't understand what happens to young players who shine in the TAC, who have ball skills, yet forget it all when they pull on the Y&B. Coaches forget how to coach or lose the ability to get their message across. TW constantly bemoans the fact that the players are not following what they practiced all through the off-season - I believe him. I also think that Frawley copped a lot of flak for a similar reason.

Torney played a good game against the Swans. He nearly always plays well. I like watching Torney, wish he was still in the Y&B. Rodan looks like he might blossom at Port. I will hopefully enjoy watching him, too.

I just hope I'm not one day saying the same thing about Lids or Foley or Newman or . . .

Very happy with the way Polak's progressing.Lovely hands & very strong. Will be a very very good player for us.Just hope his kicking for goal improves.
