That really is incredible, 20K for a suburban comp. Its amazing really the lengths some clubs go to to get the players - also amazing how much money the clubs have to throw around!

Uhhhh... yeh. ::)

It is incredible about the money that "some clubs" have to throw around, unfortunately other lesser clubs are forced to try & pay players higher than what these players are really worth. Thiscan lead to clubs getting in to financial strife.

...and this is what distinguishes Noble Park from the likes of a Vermont and Balwyn. Sure, they splash around some money, but they have created a culture based on logevity, family, loyalty and grass roots that cannot be surpassed. You would find that most of their players have come through their 18s and/or are from the local area.

Diamond Valley currently in a mess with the board sacked & secretary Peter Floyd allegedly been ripping off the Diamond Valley for thousands over the years with an apparent gambling problem.Football Victoria have stepped in to run the comp until a new structure & new staff are appointed.The Diamond Valley has been left behind over the years but hopefully now it can regain its status as a premier suburban competition.

Noble Park threw a little bit of money around the year prior to their string of Premierships getting a few names from the then Springvale...

Heidelbegr play Montmorency in NFL (old Diamond Valley) grand final.Heidelberg are expected to win their 3rd or 4th flag in a row.I'm hoping Mont can win but unfortunately Ithink they will lose by 3-4 goals.

Now the Northern Football League ?
Bottom of Div 2 no wins and percentage of 28% in 2008, still seems a bit harsh.
Will they find anyone to take over ?

Awful situation mb. It will be interesting to see what comes out of it all and what action is taken if the allegations are proved to be correct.
