Official PRE Player President thread- Dan Connors

Re: Daniel Connors

Sorry to hear that - about Connors, I mean.

Let's hope his habits don't rub off on Edwards.

Re: Daniel Connors

You just can't do that type of stuff anymore and be serious about playing AFL JB. The old school VFL early AFL, that wasn't an issue. They're expecting 18year olds to be professional now. We need him to catch up in the maturity stakes, because he's a keeper.

Happy for him to go at it real hard on the field, pick a fight, try to intimidate someone. We crave a hard man who's able to do those things. We just need him to be available every week, not just every second week because he's breakin team rules.

No, no problem from me. Nothing wrong with a night on the turps, hope he got some action.

How many times would most employers tolerate someone who's continually missing work because of the questionable conduct alluded to here no matter how young or talented they are?

Don't recall him missing a game. Just doesn't like some of the work functions. ;D

Re: Daniel Connors

Training is part of work too JB

They're outta their minds. It's one thing to demand it and another to expect it. ;D

I know that I made something up about it, gus. I have no idea if it's true. :hihi

Re: Daniel Connors

If the kids got a tendency to stray out and enjoy the nightlife a bit to much why would they room him with another kid? Wouldn't it be smarter and safer to room him with a slightly older teammate who can guide him a bit.

Probably wouldn't help anyway, some of the senior boys get fairly thirsty as well.

Re: Daniel Connors

Even if he played drunk he'll be more talented than quite a few on our list.

Giddy up.

Re: Daniel Connors

Gun......exciting prospect. A lot of ppl had this guy in their top ten to go in the draft...but it was these apparent off field issues that sent him to the back of the draft pile.....finds the pill, can use the pill and is hard at it - i reckon that is EXACTLY what this club needs.

IN: CONNERS

That's odd, I've never seen Redders make it to the second pot.

Me neither, sure he might be a pro footballer but he still only 18 with new found fame and fortune. Let him enjoy it.

If he's as good as people are alluding then he'll make it, with some good stories to boot.

Apologies for giving Red far to much credit

Re: Daniel Connors

Hopefully the club can get his head right and get him fit for next year. He is a extremely talented there is no doubt about it. However there have been many talented players over the years that never played senior footy due to bad behavior or attitude problems. Regardless as to how talented Conners might be, we have to set standards and boundries in relation to player fitness and player behavior. If we let a player or players to push those boundries, we will compromise the future foundations/fabric of the club.

Agreed we don't want to get back to the bad old days when the players "ran" the club.

Hey, at least I actually drink beer.

(And FWIW for you 2 blokes, apple cider from Coles is NOT an alcoholic drink.)

Why not start a campaign Red for the Couger bar to start having Bi-Lo beer on tap. Then you might have half a chance of being capable of seeing more than half a qtr of a game
