Well I thought I might get the ball rolling an give my first Prez update of Dan "THE MAN "Connors.
Stats that we probally all know are:
Height 183.1 / Weight 78.5 / DOB 22/9/88 / Nickname Condog
Recruited from Bendigo Pioneers an was a wingman in the TAC Cup team of the year as well as the AA team.
Firstly stood beside Connors on draft day ,an the first thing that caught my attention was his height,seemed to be more around a 6/1 then his stat 6ft an quite a good physique,I would think he will fill out to be a genuine AFL midfield size without any problem.
Watching him at training he oozes class on his left foot but is more then capable on his right,have watched him very carefully in handball/reflex drills an this is where he really standsout,dare I say Voss like do's not fumble an seems to have exquisite vision which complements his brilliant handball.
Dosent look like a speedster but is far from slow an has a lot of tricks to make up for what pace he do's lack.
Has been said that there are question marks on his fitness/endurance an that is the reason he slipped in the draft,in one perticular game I saw him play for Bendigo he would have had 30 + touches an got kicks all over the ground and he looked to have great endurance,just IMO he may not be an outstanding athlete but a very very smart footballer who knows where an when to run.
Simply a lot of people have been crying out for another tough onballer an this kid may go away to being this he looks tough,aggresive an brilliant in close, though he may play a lot at Coburg next year it wont be long till he is a starting midfielder for the RFC.
As VP of Polly I thought I would just give a few thoughts on my first impressions of Polly
Determened thats what i see an hear from polly I think the kid really feels he has a point to prove an his attitude seems first class.
Have seen Polly talk to 3 different crowds live now an though he comes accross a little shy an nervous,he seems to be very very thankful to the RFC for giving him a 2nd chance an will do what ever he can to repay the faith.
Has trained with Richo predominatly at training an holds his own very well,looks like he wants,try's an is learning all the time,hands are superb and looks to know his limitations with his kicking in the sence that he dosent try an spear kicks but weight the ball nicley to his target.
IMO he is even more of an important recruit then Sugar or Browny an im sure he can do his job in a first class way
