I've held fire on this since becoming his pres, but yesterday's game restored the faith I've held for Gus ever since the tragic ankle injury in his second game in 2007 vs C**wood.
He returned to form in the last part of 2008 and there were some very good reports from his games with Coburg. I didn't get to see any of those and must concede from the TV coverage that his game in the semi-final would be generously described as ordinary.
A young ruckman must be given more time to show his wares and there are a few posters on here that have been too quick to write him off too early. It prompted me to start compiling my little list of offending posters.

I'm not looking for any retractions and I'm not saying yesterday's game from Gus was a "grab a game by the scruff of the neck and win it" but it was a solid demonstration that he should be our first ruck option while Simmo is out of form. Bring in Browne or Vickery and play Patto as a forward full time.
