Official PRE President thread -Mark Coughlan

If anyone sees that jumper Mark is wearing come up on Richmond auctions let me know...it epitomises everything I want to see in a Tiger. I'd love to buy it. Somehow I don't think it will be used for fund raising though. Some things are more important than money.

Re changes for swans game

Out: Richo and Oakley Nichols

In: Cousins and Simmonds. Play Pattison in forward line.

Was awesome to see Mark back and get through the game. Hope he is allowed to stay in and really develop, plays above the VFL level and showed to me last night he will get back into the swing of AFL very quickly now if his body allows.

He is a very different player body wise to the player he was last year, the pre-season has been excellent for him and while I'm not a fan of our conditioning, full credit to them and his work in getting him to the point he is at this year.

Guess you have to get some right now and then. >:D

Trust me, more to do with Mark Coughlan and his work ethic than our incompetent fitness staff.

Mark is a freak work ethic wise, he pushes himself to the outermost limits and always has.

He is a favorite player of mine, always has been and it brought a tear to my eye when they walked off the ground and Mark led the way. His game was very good too and can see (body admitting) him getting back to being a vital player for us.

Greatest news I have seen in a long while.

Well done Cogga! ;D

Is that what you were crying about after the game, I thought it was because it was your shout. >:D

How good was it when we walked through the Tiger Army/Cheer Squad after the game?

The YouTube link to Cogs leading the song after the game is here (It looks like not all of the players knew the words. I hope they gets to sing it heaps before the year is out.)

Yeah I felt for little Nachos, nothing worse when you don't know the words and the damn camera lingers on you.

And message to "Huddo", mate it is easily the best song in the competition by a street.

Thanks Rosy.

Might have to save that one, just in case the season gets a little bleaker.

What's with YouTube? I do a search on Cogs and in my list of search results I get a hit for my favourite singer, Rebecca Mendoza, performing at Bennetts Lane, with me in the camera shot.
It's creepy that YouTube has my life preferences recorded on file.
Big Brother?
BTW, Thanks Rosy for the link. Cogs is my favourite player.

It's my proud presidential duty to report Mark had 33 touches at Coburg today. He went off at the 10 minute mark of the last quarter. Glad to see he copped being dropped on the chin, took his medicine, and let his footy do the talking like only a champion player and person would. (How many cliches did I fit in there :hihi )

Now who did I have that bet with? Hutstar? ;)

Cogs had 46 touches for Coburg yesterday.  His career seems to be at the cross roads but he's showing his class still giving his all.

I hope our new coach is a fan and we re-sign him and give him the chance to play after having a full pre-season. His attitude is second to none.  I hate players coming in  for 1 week then dropped straight away rather than being given a chance to adjust to the tempo.

If we're selecting on form, which has been claimed by the club but not exactly demonstrated in team seelction, we'd need to have some stand out performances today for Mark to not come back in.

Sorry, but the bulk of those touches were meaningless.

Cogs is finished. Is too slow, is a terrible kick, makes bad decisions. The highlight for me was late in the third qtr when he had a free kick when kicking with the wind. They needed to score so what did he do - kick long to the forwards and provide a chance to score or kick short to a 50/50....for a guy who has played AFL for near on 8 years should have known better, but clearly he doesn't.

See ya Cogs.

Plenty of others to delist/retire before him.
If anyhting he can provide depth in cae of injuries next season. Getting that much of the ball shows something imo.

Did you watch the game?

It was one of the worst 46 possesion games I've ever seen, very selfish game from Cogs which you would expect from Bowden or Pettifer but not him.

Time to move on.
