Official PRE President's thread for Carl Peterson

Re: Carl Peterson

I predict Petersen will play his first AFL game at the Dreamtime clash 2008.

Peterson

He isnt named in the coburg side this week. Is he going to debut on friday night or is he injured? Gee if he's to debut i can't wait!

More than likely play seconds again, a long way off a debut with the Tiges.

Saw him play alongside Browny in Coburg's magoos and looked a way off - hasn't he suffered from OP? It is common to play a couple and then get rested as soon as there is any pain recurrance.

What we saw in a few little cameos was packed full of potential. Didn't have a big impact on that game though.

Re: Peterson (merged)

Nice to see Carl got 23 possessions on the weekend, should be pressing for a spot in the ones on Sunday with luck.

Re: Peterson (merged)

Excellent news. I'd love to see him earn a game for Richmond by the end of the year. The experience would do him good and I suspect that he would capture the hearts of supporters.

Bring on Digger!

Re: Peterson (merged)

Just baby steps, nurse him through the rest of the year in the VFL. Another full game in the thirds then into the seconds.

If Coburg go deep in the finals and Carl can play a role that will be worth more then the games he missed.

Re: Peterson (merged)

He could get a go this weekend in the Coburg 1s, which would be great.
I'm not going to say anything outlandish like he should play for Richmond this year, but if he can produce in the Coburg 1s well before the end of the year, then with a good pre-season at the end of this year, it could be promising for next year. And given we probably won't (sarcasm intended) win the flag this year, next year is when we should be looking at.
And having just re-read this thread, for those who don't know, the Richmond recruiters fully knew Peterson had OP, and wouldn't be ready to go at the start of 07. That happened to be a big reason why he was picked so low in the draft, because he was injured and wasn't showing his best. With some professional rehab, and then a proper pre-season, which he hadn't experienced, he could be a very exciting player for the future.

Re: Peterson (merged)

Its interesting that Peterson hasn't been named once in the best for Coburg but in the EOTT report his stats are excellent and McRea always gives him a good wrap.

Maybe TW is playing funny buggers and we might see Carl debut for Richmond soon!?

;)

Re: Peterson (merged)

WT,
Peterson hasn't actually played for Coburg yet, in the 1s anyway.
For Coburg 2s, he hasn't played enough on the ground until last weekend, where he was pretty good.
I suppose the question now is do they play him for almost a full game for Coburg 2s, or have him step up a level to Coburg 1s and play some of the game.
The same question is facing Simmonds, a near full game for Coburg, or half a game for Richmond.

Digger kicked 1 in the reserves for Coburg last week.

Take note of this man. He will be exciting the Tiger fans for years. ;)
