Carl "Digger" "Normy" Peterson became a Tiger after being drafted in the 5th round at pick 60 in the 2006 AFL National draft.
Recruited from: Claremont (Hails from Kununurra)
Date of birth:03/07/1987
Height: 183
Weight: 70
Number: 28
The first time I saw Digger Peterson play was from a shortened highlight reel (programming technicalities we were told) at the last draft night for rookie club members.
There was much 'oooing and aaaahhing' as we watched Digger strut his stuff.

Mourish's Clontarf stablemate Carl Peterson also looms as an unusual draft story, having worked as a grave-digger in Perth this year after graduating.
Peterson, 19, from Kununurra in the Kimberley, broke into Claremont's senior side late last season and is an exciting prospect, according to AFL national talent manager Kevin Sheehan.
"He is another interesting one. His vertical leap is incredible," Sheehan said.
"He takes off on Monday and lands on Thursday. He is a wonderful athlete."
The softly spoken Peterson, who weighs 70kg, described his stint in the WAFL as an eye-opener that would force him into the gym over summer.
"There are a lot of mature bodies," he said. "They are pretty big people, so I think I'm going to have to lift a few weights."

Shers quote from a thread about draft night:
At the draft night last Tuesday, they showed some video of Peterson, an Aboriginal boy (I think) from WA who was just over 6' tall. In a WAFL game late in the year, Peterson's team was playing Mark Seaby's team as Seaby was trying to get back into the Eagles team. Anyway, late in the game Petersons team's ruckman got injured and apparently having no-one else, they put Peterson into the ruck. This is literally a guy 6' vs Seaby who is around 6'7''. Peterson jumped all over him and beat him in the centre bounces 5 times out of 6. We were told he has a vertical leap of over 90 cms, which is a hell of a lot.
Anyway, he will probably never be a ruckman, but as a late pick he could turn out to be a bit of a freak, with White from the Lions coming to mind.
Unfortunately Carl has a bad case of op at the moment so we won't get to see the excitement machine until the second half of the year. Perhaps it will be similar to TopCat's first year and he will play 6 games for the 'Burgers towards the end of the year.
In the past Carl has worked as a grave digger and a scaffolder. He played for the East Kimberly Magpies (but we won't hold that against him) before moving to Perth and becoming part of the Clontarf Academy and playing for Claremont.
A friendly spy of mine had a chat to Digger the other day and uncovered the following info on him:
Champion bloke. Bit shy but happy to chat. He has had op for the last 3 years but played with it last year after sitting out 2005.
Changed his surname last year.
Digger loves Barra fishing.
He started running again this week and fingers crossed, he will start playing in 8 weeks. He can't wait to get amongst it as it is very frustrating not to be out there with the boys.
His role model at the club has been JON but all the senior blokes have been fantastic and he LOVES Melbourne.
Is a gun basketballer and would have pursued that keenly if not for AFL.
Carl 'Digger' Peterson says he would like to be a utility type and play everywhere
*Thanks to my spy
