Official Trade Week thread- 2007

Well, in retrospect, for me there were 2 aims going into trade week:

1. To recruit a 21/22yo ruckman.
2. To recruit a 21/22yo key defender.

Did we achieve either of these objectives?
well sort of Mcmahons a defender...sort of... :duh

no. what was wrong with offering pick 67 or 83 for king and gardiner. what was wrong with offering something up for moran.

Maybe we did, but they have to agree to come to us remember.

Absolutely checkside - it would be "why are we drafting this old hack! First Kingsley, now this!".

Anyway, Adelaide have given us our PSD pick........

ADELAIDE
Jason Torney
Ian Perrie
Matthew Bode
John Hinge
Darren Pfeiffer

Jason Torney !!!!!

King anf Gardner went for such low draft picks because they wanted to chose where to go. They didn't want to got to the PSD, so Geelong and Sts organised a meaningless trade. Clearly RFC wasn't in the picture as their choic :Pe.

True to form, Wallace has recruited yet another small running player & flanker. Even worse, you’ll probably be forced to select another runner (Cotchin or Morton), with your pick 2, seeing that Kruezer is a certainty to go to Carlton.

The problem with continually recruiting runners & flankers is that those types are unlikely to win you a premiership. If you don’t have a decent spine the peripheral types won’t stand up in finals. You need to recruit and build your side around quality key position players. It appears Richmond is doing the exact opposite.

Thank god for that, st.kilda can have that hack king and also gardiner, my mate barracks for geelong and he couldn't be happier to see Charlie go.
To inconsistent and waits for things to happen instead of making it happen....Oh yes your welcome to that double act saints.
