Just heard a sound bite of him on SEN radio saying we should "convince" Sheedy to coach us for the rest of the year.

Somehow I don't think he'd need much "convincing" ;)

The trouble is by next year, he'd need to be blasted out of the job :hihi

Why do people listen to Timmy?

Failed coach
Failed commentator
Failed Radio presenter

Nuff said. :thumbdown

Would be ideal as a caretaker and rattle a few cages in the process but I doubt we could get him back into the coaching fold by comments he has made this year regarding the topic.

Kev's not the one they need to convince. It's just not going to happen.

Wallace is gone, no point persisting with him, undisputably Kev is the best caretaker going around in the business at the moment. Like Timmy said he can draw the line in sand and handle the business until we select our 'real' coach. He may even pass on somethings he may have noticed up until now.

The club should consider it

Agreed, but before this season. Sheedy was on the books at the end of last year, people were talking even then about possibilities if Wallace fell over. That was the time for the club to consider it, not now. More to the point...

I'm not disputing whether Kevin is suitable to be a caretaker or not, I am merely stating at the point we are now at it won't happen and nor should it in my opinion.

People rightfully talk about the need to get Wallace out the right way, well, that is equally undone if we do it the right way but then back flip and not follow plans/processes on other accounts.

March was (ridiculously) criticised by many for his reference to a contigency plan, and has stated on numerous occassions Sheedy will not be coaching this year and is not a part of that contigency.

To back flip on that would make us a further laughing stock and add fuel to the fire. Whether people believe or do not believe in how the Board has handled this, they are walking on eggshells at the moment and are having every decision and statement over analysed. The media is a powerful beast that can create a lot of dissension amongst not just the general public but our own supporters as we have seen.

We must be seen to stand firm on processes, plans and back up statements.

It's very easy to stand on the sidelines and make suggestions about what the club should or shouldn't do. Those who RUN the club have said OVER and OVER again that the mid season review is when any critical decisions will be made. Watson can shut his ugly fat mouth and leave us alone. I have zero interest in his opinion about anything.

They didnt have a problem doing a backflip when they said we wont use Pick 6 on Cousins remember?

Sheedy is the best person available atm

I thought someone might mention that, very different circumstance however. I'm not condoning it, your point is valid, but I don't think you can hang your hat on that too comfortably.

I'm not denying it wasn't a backflip, it was, but there is a big difference between a unique situation like what we had with Cousins and the attached hype and a bloke we have had at our club since last year in Sheedy. Cameron can also be vetoed, March and the Board should not be.

hope not, shocking coach
Goodness. If Sheeds is a shocking coach, then how would you classify some of the deadasses that have coached the RFC over the past 27 years?

Wouldn't mind if the Board did a backflip over this one. Do you know something gpb?

With each passing day/week the Board are looking more impotent and ineffective by allowing this rot to go on.

FFS it has taken 12 months to work out what we knew after the Geelong hiding in 2007?

Personally I'd rather have King or Campbell as caretaker. Doubt Sheeds would have the want or will to get back into the 24/7 treadmill that is a senior coaching gig.
