OK then, what changes for round 2?

I dont expect any of the poor performers to be dropped, TW will want to see who is going to stand up for the footy club and who wants the sack.

Personaly, I would like to see Razor, and Staff, and knobel, and hartigan come in at the expense of Pattison,Tivendale,Kellaway.
Why would you drop Kellaway? I'd let Gaspar go before Andy and surely Schulz has to be either played in the backline or come under serious scrutiny. He had 3 possessions last night and when the forward line desperately needed someone to take a mark he couldn't do it. They can't say that he doesn't play well with Richo there either, because he was up the other end of the ground.

Well I would like to drop both of em but we need Gas to play on the g-train next week, and he did an alright job last time I think.
Sarge definately should be under the microscope but he is part of our future and needs game time to show his worth.

My feeling is that three changes to the team would be about right. Enough to show that we are willing to admit that was a poor effort but not too many to look like we are panicking. I have no desire to insult members of the team but have an opinion that Pattison, Rodan and Tambling should be looked at closely in terms of dropping them next week.

Whatever they do with the team, more than anything, I would be hoping for MUCH more defensive pressure on the opposition. Krak showed the way on tackling and I hope the others get that message during the week. If you allow an AFL team freedom with the ball these days, then expect a monster score kicked against you. How many opposition players had time to run and bounce last night? Not good enough!

Our skills aren't going to magically improve in one week. Determination to pound every opposition player with the ball into the turf, that is achievable.

Agree with much of what you say santa anna but to make the point about determination Terry shouldn't just drop younger players. Ritchie will benefit friom a game or two at Coburg.Unless Rodan is judged to be physically unable to recover his pre knee speed, then he should be given a bit more time. Ditto Pattison.. he needs as much game time as possible this season.

I've been following the team for 50 some years. This was the worst performance I can remember. I don't care if we get it exactly right in terms of who goes out or not. It is important for the health of the club that this debacle be marked by the dropping of senior players. This is the only way that the Club can force the players to never forget what can only be properly described as a disgrace.

Gotta agree with you on this moments, its not the kids that should be copping a whack for their efforts some of the senior players surrendered fairly quickly.
Feel sorry for any kids that get a run for next week though as another thumping looks to be top of the agenda.

With the saints next week and a very tough road trips to Perth and Brissie i wouldnt bring in the kids just yet.lets wait and see up to rnd 4 before bringing in kids before they are ready but have no choice but to do it.
Up to rnd 4 the following should be considered for selection pending training & Coburg form:
Hartigan
Roach
Jackson
After Rnd 4 pending individual performances moreso than the Teams performance as i suspect we will be 0-4
Polo
Meyer
Limbach
Thursfeild
Hughes*
Jon*
White*
*On the provso they perform with Coburg.

I hope so, mate. I really do. About the only thing that will make this season bearable is watching the development of the kids.

Lol, Fiora is definately a chance if Xavier Clarke doesn't come up (although that's pretty unlikely).
Spud still loves him. He was wondering on Thursday night why he wasn't in the side.

Well done Mexican - you were spot on!!!!! Looking forward to your future prognostications :clap (Self praise is no recommendation - so I thought I should assist you there ;D)

Rodan and Tambling were near certainties to be dropped, Rodan not looking up to pace and tempo, and Tambling on the bench for a long time - possibly discipline of team rules (though I'm only guessing - but as he was off for so long, other than injury, that would have to be the reason). You'll be back son - keep the faith!

Patto is an interesting one - with our lack of height against a StKilda team, which has plenty of it. Stafford is probably a better option in the circumstances - hardness and experience - but Patto needs the experience. I know he was poor last week. Still there always Coburg this week ;)

Hartigan gets another much needed opportunity. Perception is he misses targets - which was disputed last season - but he does have decision issues - almost makes Tivendale look decisive. Hope he gets a negating run-with role on Del Santo or Harvey. Won't get a better education than that.

Thirsty - hope he's right - can't see a great matchup for him though. Insurance in case of another poor performance by Schulz/Gaspar perhaps?

Good calling Mex - looking forward to your predictions next week :hihi
