OK, we are not going to make the eight, so........

This is my point. Even if we try to lose, we MUST lose all remaining 12 games, 3 against teams who are shocking.

Freo is losing to anyone right now (and we walloped them in Perth).

Essendon is injury hit, and are struggling to get any consistency out of a significant number of their guys on the paddock.

Melbourne are even making jokes about how bad they are (Robbo on TFS was not shying away from the fact they are awful).

At least we have looked like a competitive unit in most games this season. You cannot say that for Essendon and Melbourne, and Freo are a headcase.
Agree 74, we will win at least one more game. However despite how poor the abovementioned sides are/have been, I reckon we will have a loss to at least one of them in the run home.

Don't argue that. Look at us last year, we still managed to win a a given day. I reckon Freo are the best case, just because we may go into it expecting a repeat of earlier in the year, and Freo should be a better team than that (with Freo though who knows who you will get).

The issue for us with tanking though is one win kills the priority pick, and without that, is tanking worth it? I doubt it is.

no point tanking. i can't see us finishing any lower... we might overtake carlton in the run home. it's 11th or 12th for us in 08

We must have the guts and nous to TANK now. Any meaningless wins against worthless opposition are counter productive from this point forward.

However our club is the only club in the AFL that is too stupid to execute this and we will celebrate losing our priority pick with a win over Melbourne next week. Hip Hip Hooray.

What a circus.

i believe the criteria is < 5 wins. if we beat melbourne and no one else, that's 4.5 wins. we can still get pick 1.

It's 4.5 to give an requirement of four wins or less. One more win and the PP is gone.

The cut-off is 16.5 points....
So we can only have one more draw.. i.e 2 more points....
