okeefe wants out

He will be staying in Sydney. Has agreed to an in-principal agreement to sign on for a 4 year deal. this was never really a major factor, both parties have great regard for each other. He did want to come home to Melbourne but I think the Pre Season draft worried him.

With 3 interstate teams near the bottom, it was like a lucky dip. Sydney have done well, last year they also kept Jude Bolton who they shopped around, but for no takers.

Oh, well the Tankers finally missed their man. Suffer in Ya Jocks. :D

Haha they arent civilised enough to wear jocks, they probably wear Visy's :hihi

O'Keefe has done well, the Swans have backed down & given him a nice 4 year deal that will keep his pockets full for some time.

Well said Mb my dear sir.

O Keefe couldnt get his $$$ at any other club i dont reckon without some very fancy book keeping.

The extra $$ the Swannees get in their cap gets Ryan the $$ he is on.

Swans odds for the 8 probably roll back in a notch or two now he is staying id reckon.

For a player of his talent, I reckon you will find that the Swans still got him on the cheap, 4 year deal notwithstanding.

The Swans could see they held the whip in hand on this one, and called his bluff. Yeah, they paid him more than what they originally offered, but not much more, and less than what he was probably worth.

4 year deals for 27-28 year olds is always dangerous but the Swans can afford to do that with their cap concessions.
