Tigeronprowl said:Thanks ozoiler. Just awesome. I was at this game and have always wanted to see a replay of it but never could get my hands on one. I was 17 at the time and the atmosphere at this game was electric. Even better than any final I have gone to even though I have not seen the Tiges live in a grand final. Nearly 92,000 people at the G that day and I'm sure it was a record for a home & away game at that time. I was sitting in the Southern Stand, city end, ground level roughly in between the forward flank / forward pocket which was right behind Maurice Rioli and the goals when he kicked that goal on the boundary. He had no daylight between the big sticks and threaded through the most exhilarating goal that he ever kicked for us during his career, in mho. If anyone wants to see Rioli at the peak of his powers go to 08:50 in the first quarter and watch one of our greatest players strut his stuff. Talk about repeat efforts he was way ahead of his time and would absolutely walk into any team as their star centerman nowadays. And to think we had 2 of them in the team at that time with Rainesy streaming out of the center as well. Ahhh Mr Magic and our 1980 & 1982 teams, how I would love to turn back the clock and relive those glorious years. Ozoilers link below. ENJOY

Just discovered this thread. This was my first game of football that I saw live! Will never forget the feeling of walking up the steps and seeing this massive stadium unfold before me. Magic.

Funny watching Alan McKellar with a proper haircut, Brendan Bower, Craig Smith, Ricky Jackson and those wooden seats. ;D
Would Doug Searle have been a better coach for us in the 80s instead of our annual sacking?
Geez we stuffed up the Plugger deal. I know the saints wanted one B Gale in a trade but Ben said no.oztiger73 said:Here's a few other recent videos:
