Omens

Logged onto my computer this morning to put my Randwick Races bets on. Microsoft Windows shows landscape photos from around the world at my log on screen. Today a Sumatran Tiger silhouetted against a sub tropical background........ my immediate reaction..... you *smile* beauty Tigers are home........ go you good things........

Birds from interstate been getting burnt and cooked on grand final day lately
Burnt Eagles
Burnt swans
And this year it'll be
Burnt crows

Just met, and had a beer with, 1980 Premiership umpire Glenn James.

AND

My brother met Craig Lambert in a pub in Richmond, whom I used to play basketball against - prior to his Tiger days, AND, who shares a surname with a player that will go close to winning the Norm Smith medal today.

GO TIGES!!!

Gave my ticket to my daughter - she collected this morning - a standing room only for my gold membership.

And Damn, high winds on the NSW far south coast, power black out just as the retiring veterans came on to the field.

four hours for essential energy to repair they estimate!

What can i say?

Think the biggest one is the rule of 48.

1921 - beat Geelong in first final - won premiership
1969 - beat Geelong in first final - won premiership
2017 - beat Geelong in first final - ??

Also heard on SEN this week that in each of those years we went unchanged through the finals series.

The rule of 48 ! We win by 48 !!!

Wasn't a believer of omens.

Not a believer of much due to personal reasons.

But I should have cause so many of you believe.

So many like those stats above proved that omens do happen .

Well to close off this thread and the "When will Bernie go" thread, I think it is poignant that the Killers and Jack sang "Mr Brightside (r)" after the Grand-final.
I'm not sure there will ever be a "Mr Darksider "song to match, thank goodness.

BTW come back Baron :) all's fair in love and war !

when the killers sang 'forgotten years' i felt like it was speaking straight to the hearts of the 'long-suffering' richmond fans

all *smile* week id seen richmond named after or below adelaide, until they brought the cup onto the ground and then suddenly our ribbons we're on the left side of the cup. it felt like an omen to me

then when they gave us the cup i felt like singing a version of the barmy army song

get your *smile* colours
get your *smile* colours
get your *smile* colours
off our cup

The wallace years
the bartlett years

These shall not be forgotten years - but not for a lack of trying.
