PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Rosy said I should start my own posts ;) - so I thought I'd report the discussion from "On the Couch" tonight, noting that they paid Richmond a lot of attention last week - and again this week. (for all the wrong reasons)

I'm aware that there are several posts regarding similar issues - however I'm interested to hear what PREenders think of their (in particular Hird's) conclusions.

Note - I'm also aware that Sheahan's not very popular on here, however I find that he does have some good insight/insider knowledge.

Don't shoot the mesenger ;)

Anyhow - key points

a. Sheahan convinced/insinuated that Terry gone within 4 weeks - maybe less.
b. Hird convinced that Sheedy is the perfect interim solution.
c. Campbell may be an option - disadvantaged because he then has to play for long term employment

Of course we all understand that they (Sheeds'/Hird) are best mates - but gee he/they made some good logic:

a. appoint caretaker coach (Sheedy/Pagan)
b. neither to be considered for the long term role
c. allow them to define/observe/be critical/implement player structure (e.g. work out who gets cut)
d. utilise rest of year to seek/obtain long term coach

I'm well aware that Sheedy/March have said this is not an option, but as Hird alluded - the goalposts have changed since making those comments.

I'm all for Hardwick to take over (if what the other post is true about his direct nature) - but in the interim - I'd be very happy for Sheeds to step in.

Not sure Terry will be sacked - but I'm positive they will announce his tenure won't be renewed and/or he will walk regardless.

Sheahan may not be liked - but he's often on the money.
