With all teams in the lower part of the top 7 winning(Kang, Syd, Adel,Freo) and teams from 8th -11th loosing(Coll, Rich, St.K, Ess) loosing, I think now its fair to say the top 7 is decided.

There is now one spot up for grabs in the finals and its out of

-Collingwood
-St. Kilda
-Essendon
-Richmond
(maybee you could throw in Hawthorn, but doubtfull finalest).

I would give Collingwood the best chance, they have the easiest draw (1 interstate) and the best position as of now.

Richmond have the hardest draw of the group(3 interstate) and are likely to be behind the 8-ball after losses to Bris and Adel(well lose em both).

Saints draw is not much better than ours and I think they will fade late in the season as most young teams do, but have an easy rounds 19-22.

Essendons draw is par and should win more than they lose, but who knows? they could do anything?

I hate to have to rely on other teams loosing but im afraid that'll be the case this year.

I think it will come down to the matches these teams play against each other that will decide(all play each other but Coll v St.K)

So lets all boo extra hard for Coll, Ess and St.K and hope the footy gods will be on our side and we can fall into the 8.

And for those of you that would prefer us to finish down the bottom, rather than 8th, one word.......idiots.
With the MCC deal, you never know what will happen if you make it in the finals. We also need it for memberships, confidence, experience and to help retain players.

I was born late 1982 and been around for just 2 finals appearances, so I dont care if we scrape into 8th and getpumped in the finals, i just want the chance of seeing us play come post round 22!!!

Our biggest KEY matches

v Collingwood Rd 15
v Sk. Kilda Rd 19
v Essendon Rd 20
v Hawthorn Rd 22

(also v Geelong round 14 to try and get a winning streak goin again)

The season is half way through and anything can happen. Look at Brisbane when their dream run with injuries went off the rails slightly.
There are 3 games separating 1st and 10th.
Richmond are 1 win behind the Roos but have a better percentage.
They are 2 wins off 4th.
Way too early to call a press conference and concede defeat. Maybe this has been a kick in the bum that was needed and along with a few players returning might springboard the team to success.
Who knows?

Go Tiges.

they need more than springboards.
Maybe rockets - bunch of big heads playing for themselves and not as a team.
I feel like going down to training with a ghetto blaster and blast some heavy metal at them cause they play like they listen to Bros atm.
Richmond Clowns football club.
P.S. any one else feel free to add their mascot. ;D

Time to get real they have blown their chance and 2 interstate floggings wil end their season officially. They are pretenders and the clean out cometh

It makes no difference where we finish up on the ladder - until we enter the 21st century and start playing a modern, more exciting style of football we will not win anything nor will our membership increase.

Harry, I agree with you that we should adopt a more exciting style of football.

But I think what matters to people most is whether we're winning, regardless of the brand of football. I'm not a fan of outside, flashy, namby pamby football, but we need to do something about the way we grind out games. Danny is mindful that we don't get blown away in games and this doesn't help.

It's frustrating to know that, for the last two weeks, we have managed to concede under 90 points to teams that have averaged 100+ points against them for the season so far.

A few weeks ago I thought we were improving. We were at least playing as a team and kicking reasonable scores. Since then, the mindset of players has changed, we have become reactive, flat footed and undisciplined, which makes us all the more frustrating to watch.

Whether it's because we just don't have the players to carry out the game plan or whether it's because we are just too negative and defensive to begin with, I'm not totally sure, but I would guess that it's a combination of both.

It all started with Danny's comments that the only way we could win in Perth was to turn it into a grind.

We have been playing negative, boring, round the boundary footy since then
