Which kids do we have that are ready to go?
to be honest im not in the best position to answer that. as far as body type and coping with physical side of the game goes and when fit casserly connors cotchin deledio collins graham hughes jackson mcguane morton jon polo rance riewoldt tambling and white even meyer.and even putt just for a taste.
they would all be given games 3 or 5 each for a start.the real problem is getting some big bodies around them when they do play.

this is where the real opportunity now lies gtting games into the kids openly coming out and saying we are going to play all of them at some stage and give them as many games as possible.

With Johnson out there is no way in the world we could possibly drop Tuck. Our side is too small as it is, and while Johnson is listed at 85kgs, he plays heavier than that. Add Tuck to the outs and Thompson, Goodwin, Edwards, Shirley etc. etc. will go apeshit. And while those blokes aren't overly big, they're far stronger than Foley, Tambling, Deledio etc. etc.

Tuck has played on the likes of Sewell and Hayes in recent weeks and done incredibly well on them. Although I must concede he was terrible against the bombers. But who cares? We belted them.

He was beaten by Brett Kirk (top 5 midfielder in the comp IMHO) on the weekend. Can't say that Kirk was one of the blokes was one of the blokes bending us over in the first half when the game was lost.

Well, no that's not entirely accurate.

Granted that there's been some fairly strong and colourful reaction to the loss (a loss which was more inevitably dissapointing than surpising) but I guess that's just frustration at seeing the same old same old.

Many were in fact saying things ranging from "let's not get ahead of ourselves" to "you are delusional if you think we're any good"

The recent effort shown was no doubt an improvement and some things the club has put in place are on the right track, but there's a long way to go before the on field side is on the right track both in structure and personnel and this was being said up to Sunday's game by many. These same people will be saying the same thing for the whole year, I assure you because contrary to what you have said, they do not let a win against an ordinary side take their focus away from the still existing flaws in the side that seem to take along time to be addressed adequately or at all.
Well said.

How do we expect to win "OUR'' 2011 flag if we aren't blooding the kids!!! :-X

geez phil thats a real nice spin on that season.
my take is we won 7 games against the bottopm 4 sides of that yr. we won 9 against bottom 8 sides.we lost by 100 points three times it was nearly four times wce took their foot of the pedal. most games we played against the top sides we got belted. we managed a win against adelaide and caught collingwood on the hop.

come round 18 we were 3 games out of the 8 with no real chance of making the finals. we finished ninth and missed finals by 2 games and a massive percentage.
but what did we do the last 4 games. instead of putting the cue in the rack with the advent of an extremely strong draft coming, we proceed to beat brisbane who finished 13th we then beat carlton who finished 16th and we then got over essendon who finished 15th. and then comes round 22 with the supporters thinking we are world beaters the wce show us exactly where we are at with what should have been a 100 point hiding.

i still scratch my head at the stupidity of those in charge. play the kids lose the last 4 totally meaningless games and drop down 2 or 3 spots to get a crack at the four or five players they openly stated they would like.

there are smilarities happening this yr to what happened in 06.we are winning against the bottom 4 or 5 sides and not looking like it against the top sides we will probably win 7 thru 11 games mostly against crap finish ninth and miss out on the outstanding young prospects again.
roos and sydney did us a favour and showed us a lesson but wallace and miller are to dumb to learn the obvious.

Agree Claw.....2006 will always highlight the perils of reading too much into a few wins against ordinary opposition, and unfortunately some are doing it again. Not much has changed unfortunately.

Yes. When Terry first came to club he first said he inherited a train wreck of a list. Unfortunately he later said that you don't necessarily have to bottom out to re-build. That's fair enough if your remaining senior core were decent, like the Lions. Unfortunately, even with our remaining senior core, we still bottomed out (ok there were some key injuries, but we would still be pretty much whre we are now).

It's like he started out by saying "you can't polish a *smile*" but then later softened by saying "but you can roll it in glitter!"
