other round 8 games

The Dawks v Aints game would have to have been the ugliest game of footba i mean rugby I have ever seen.... Go back kick it to touch, Go forward turn over, Go backward kick it to touch.... What is our great game coming to?

Not to worry LW. This is not the sort of game plan that wins premierships. ;) Let them take the short term 4 points. :peep

Eagles 32 points up at 1/4 time. If they win it'll be the first time since R1 2003 that all the 'home' teams have won (and I'll have 8 winners).

All the 'away' teams have won just four times: 1980, 1978 and 1947 (6 games), and 1915 (4 games).

Damn Eagles!

A lazy early third quarter by the Eagles has left us at the bottom.

If they'd kicked another TWO POINTS, Melbourne would have replaced us there.

I know it doesn't mean much, and doesn't improve our team, but it would have been nice.

last night match was bad, but Pies and Doggies was a great contest.
Impressed by Higgins and Pendelbury today, both look likely players

Re: Damn Eagles!

The event of two teams not scoring a premiership point after 8 rounds has happened 3 times previously:
1949  Hawthorn & St.Kilda, Hawthorn won in R9
1972  Geelong & North, Geelong got on the board in R11 when they played the Kangas
1991  Brisbane & Fitzroy, though both sides had only played 7 matches dues to byes. Fitzroy won in R10

46 teams have been without a win after R8. Our percentage of 67.61 is the 13th best in that list.

Fitzroy were the last side to go through an entire season winless - 18 matches in 1964.

Re: Damn Eagles!

How many times have there been two teams 0-8 in the past? I reckon not too many.

L2R2 this database is taking over your life. Do you have a dayjob?

Loved the commentary tonight in the doggies paris hilton game - all the ooohhing and aghhing when doodek does something wonderful - the doggies forwards get smashed -= play on - in the end a wonderful result and ox changing from pendlebury to higgins as the player he wants his number - sickening really - dennis show some respect for akermanis - triple premiership player - probably instrumental in all 3 wins - did it again on the big stage - you are not working for channel eddie any more turn it down a bit please mate when collingwood are playing

Re: Damn Eagles!

You should forget about the bloody Eagles hope to god we do finish on the bottom and start barracking for Carlton.
