Our 2001 1st round pick

FFS - how are you meant to repair that list???

We're getting there. 24 of those guys are gone. Most of the guys who've taken their place look alright to me. I think we'll move up 3-4 spots on the ladder each year until our 2011 premiership :)

1999 - Manage to trade up from #7 to #3 by sending Steven McKee to Collingwood (we also got Clinton King). Then used the pick on Fiora instead of Pavlich.

:rofl

With pavo, we would be unbeatable.

more like just competitive

So what happened?

We had to get rid of Daffy who couldn't play (ever) and by then was injured (knee? Yeah, I think so). It would be tough. He was on (guess/rumoured) 440k a year and couldn't walk. It was a strategic disaster and we were on the speed (not the Lou Reed) at the time.

So we punted #17 to get rid if Daffy (leper) and got as recompense a crippled Stafford. Let's not revise history here. We were smiled when we signed Daffy and close to or over the TPP. Getting rid of him was the plus.

Our first selection at that draft was Rodan who had gifts and vices. Would we have been better off with James Kelly? Three years ago the knee jerk faction would have been [insert jubilation metaphor]. Dud. On the same theme we can take another look at Jordan Lewis in two years. Maybe sooner.

Dyer,
Are you suggesting Jordan Lewis may be banned soon, from playing with Hawthorn, to enable us to pick him up?
I can assure you, if he's banned, it's from the AFL, and not from Hawthorn.
But maybe I've thought too much about this, and put 2 and 2 together and got 5.
Are you really saying that he's out of contract soon, and it would be prudent of Richmond to get him when he's out of contract?

Nah, Shers. Pretty sure he's in the clear. I'm dagging where he's going. I don't think he's come on this year. He's really been sorted out inside at the business end. Outside player as it turns out- for now.

And he's almost 30. ;D
