So if it comes to requiring such who should it be peeps?

For me, it is unrealistic to think we are going to get a caretaker who will go on to coach us. I've seen some arguments on here that Roos is a great example but the fact is Eade was asked to stand down for other reasons, not because they saw a better option. More to the point, Roos was already at Sydney as a assistant.

It is very difficult, especially so early in a season, to find a decent coach. That is a large part of why I say to people we should not be quick to sack Terry, it really doesn't acheive a lot. And is just reacting emotionally or grand showboating with little substance.

So the questions begs then, who would be ideal? Many are not excited about Campbell being a Senior Coach, so why caretaker? Less would be interested in Brian Royal.

We don't have a Ratten, Longmire, Lyons, Hinkley, Scott, Hardwick etc at our club ie an Assistant Coach that many clubs find/found attractive let alone our supporters.

Personally, I think the man for the job if it is required, would be Craig McRae. Get a guy inwho is a great thinker of the game, was hard working and tenacious. He has experience working with kids, coaching junior elite talent in OLD and has seen operators liek Matthews & Wallace operate firsthand not to mention came from what i see as the best side in modern day footy in Brisbane.

I would give him the role of developing the kids in games with the remnants of the coaching department supporting him (wouldn't suprise me if Chocco walked with Wallace if it came to that).

That way we can be confident our kids are being developed 100% for the season, winning games is not a factor now, we are coming into a unique place in history with the Goldcoast compromising drafts after this year. We cannot afford to get this wrong.

Develop our kids, finish the review of our football department and playing list and ruthlessly search for the best coach out there and make him a offer he can't refuse at the front of the head hunters pack.

Let's make sure we also work on giving a new Head Coach the proper infrastucture/resources/staff to support him also. Or we will be lucky to be able to attract David Rhys-Jones.
