Will be on KB,s show.
One thing that KB has said before Steve is on is that the basis of the interview is reports that unless we get a good deal from the MCC we may move ALL our home games to the Dome.
While im all for the G to stay as our home ground i can understand where the club is coming from if you compare what the MCC has done for the pies.

We can't go into negotiations with the MCC without any leverage, but I doubt it will come to that. Both parties (RFC and MCC) have something to gain from maintaining a relationship, so hopefully it is just a matter of ironing out the details.

Yep Steve, play it hard.

The future longterm profitability of the club will depend on our cost structures. By negotiating a much better deal now, the future profitability of the Tigers can be much more easily achieved.

On now,No doubt we are trying for a better deal at the g & Telstra Dome are probably ready to pay what we want.

*keen to stay at the G
*Dispute about unlocking other revenue streams
*At the dome we get guanteed revenue no matter the crowd size
*Targetting a deal similar to what the pies are getting
*Not just about money but also to satisfy our members
*Got a better offer from the G is better this year than last but still not good enough
*Biggest challedge is revenue raising and costings since he arrived.
*Needed to spend a further $500g into the football dept.

spot on

Looks like they are moving into the second phase of the financial recovery. Having stopped the haemorrhaging by cutting costs, they are now looking to pump up on the income side.

Let's hope it works. It would be nice to be able to have a full squad next year.

I wonder if the Pies were really proactive in getting that deal or if it was just handed to them on a platter.

Eddie Everywhere!

I just hope that channel 7 can get their deal up and running because it means that Eddie will start talking down AFL. He has already been quoted in today's Age as saying NRL is a great product in Sydney and Brisbane. As his relationship with Demetriou sours, Collingwood will start to wear some of the flack.

That can only be good for football!

......

Apart from the Football Department - which went $500K over budget last year - he has been successful in controlling costs.

I wonder if having the person in charge of the Football Department - on a day to day basis as well as at board level - as one of Wright's "bosses" is a factor in this glaring exception?
