I'm just wondering about our coaches specific responisbilities.

The recent additions are

Jade Rawlings- Key position coach
Craig McCrae- Player development coach

Is Allessio still our ruck coach? Do we have a skills coach? Who takes care of the backs, forwards and midfield areas?

I am stoked with these additions in particular Craig Mcrae he will bring an absolute wealth of information and knowledge and I hear he is highly rated. Jade seems like a very well spoken and highly respected guy too. I think Rawlings will take care of the forwards but not certain.

Do we have a skills coach?
Don't think anyone would wnat to own up for this position.

You get a dedicated person in there that is determined to be hard taskmaster, with the coaches backing and turn around the obvious deficiencies we have MB and it would be a real feather in their cap. The question is who is the skills person willing to put players noses out of joint if needed, in order to make the majority of their possessions count on game day....

This position is of upmost importance right now for the RFC.

Wouldn't see Jade Rawlings as that bloke then. He is too gentile. Kingy is the man if you ask me.

Agree in part Harro but Kingy isnt my pick in skills - g & d for sure but we need to get better in that area for us to be where we should be mate. As i said before i dont know who the guy would be but we need someone to come in and pick up the slack in that area very quickly.

I was more relating to him being very forthright with the players in imparting what the coach wants the players to do.

I agree Harro that he would no doubt be in their faces as to what the coach wants but in technical terms as to their kicking for instance i have reservations. Bloody happy though we have got the Kingster down at the club though-very happy in fact.

tubs i think choco is the man your seeking.

As for choco blx - bit of a x file to me as there isnt much info coming out of the club in relation to the effectiveness of his role - probably something that needs to be looked at and why he might struggle to get job roles elsewhere mate.

Plough reckons Choco should have been a senior coach years ago, trouble is if you apply for a couple of jobs and get passed over then you become tainted as not quite good enough. Bit ridiculous when there is only 16 jobs to be had in the entire market and only a couple of positions come up most years.
Plough trusts Choco's ability enough to give him full responsability for pretty much all aspects of players training and preparation and supervision of the other coaches as he is often away doing corporate stuff, I think he made him the director of coaching last year.

Aside from goalkicking our skills have improved out of sight over the past two seasons.
That may have something to do with the juniors coming through but the overall skills of players seem to have lifted, there is nothing like the nightmare error rate of a couple of 2004...a couple still have a few problems but I'm not sure any skills coach on the planet could iron those out. :hihi
