PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

1. I've been very dissapointed with our kick ins this year.

I've watched the boys at training also and more often than not Newman decides to play on and kick it to a contest albeit furhter upfield.

If they don't try the long kick we seem to take forever to kick it in and have no options, our first mark is about 20 metres out and on the boundary giving us few options with the next kick.

We are predictable, no change in kick out options ever, just don't see the huddle or an attempt at anything different.

When you control the ball as in at kick ins you should be able to control the next apsseg of play, yet we don't seem capable of doing it.

Is it a lack of skills or belief, or lack of instructions from the coaches?

2. When our intensity drops off no one shows any leadership to get us moving again, with four minutes to play last week I watched Newman as the ball was about to be thrown in and he did not utter a single word or show any physical presence.

I think it's imperative that we keep talking to each other, show encouragement, lead by example etc... We are sorely missing leaders, with that said, I can't wait to see Cousins play on Sunday. ???
