PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

Chris Newman - He is a star...playing with great heart returning from injury...if we had half a dozen with his determination in the team, we would have won all 3 games to date.

Darren Gaspar - He is doing ok with the rule change we all thought he'd struggle with...he will never hurt the opposition with his feet...but he is worthy of a spot in our best 18.

Brett Deledio - One of the few players we have that can hurt the opposition with his pace and silky skills...has been a spert player in the past...that was acceptable then...it's obvious Wallace has asked him to step up this year...he has done that...in for a blinder of a year...a future leader for sure.

Andrew Raines - Sensational 2006...clubs are noticing him now...hasn't been as prominent...easily a 200 game player of the future at Tigerland

Troy Simmonds - Sorely missed in the opening rounds...need him fit...sluggish in the first half against the pies...that was expected...played better in the 2nd half...influential player.

Graham Polak - Expectations are high...hasn't produced as yet...we need him throwing his weight around...have faith that he will be producing good footy by the end of the year...first year at a new club is always hard.

Nathan Brown - it's simple with a fit Brown we'd be 3-0 by now...we miss him big time...and unfortunately we'll have to weight 3 or 4 games before he is match fit again...let's hope he stays sound.

Jack Riewoldt - not yet produced

Shane Edwards - not yet produced

Joel Bowden - definitely not going as well as last year...looks heavier on his feet...skills haven't been as smooth...we need him to fire up.

Matthew Richardson - sometimes I think we are better off without Richo...time and time again he misses crucial goals like no other AFL player has ever before...but he is all Richmond and how many other players have kicked nearly 700 goals...tries his best...runs all day. I believe Wallace should play Richo only from the square from here on...no more having to kick from 50 metres out...he should be played like Alistair Lynch was in his twilight years...he'd be more effective

Trent Knobel - we've had no value whatsoever with him...by the time he's up and running I will be in a nursing home.

Dean Polo - great 2006...he is reliable with the tag but needs to get more possesions and help our onballers...he has time on his side.

Kayne Pettifer - I want to see him run out games...he is a gun kick...has great hands...but needs to put his head on the line more often and stop playing in patches...we need him when the game is on the line

Patrick Bowden - had a good 2006...doesn't appear to be up and running as yet...this is a crunch year for him.

Kane Johnson - must be replaced as captain at the end of the year...he has no onfield presence...looks to quiet a bloke to be a captain, especially with all the young kids coming through...Kane is getting on...he is off to a slow start...we know he is a good tagger...I believe he has played his best football.

Kent Kingsley - yet to be produced

Ray Hall - will be playing VFL for the rest of his career unfortunately...missed too much footy

Shane Tuck - needs to step up for us...get dirty in the clinches if he is to be played in the middle...one of the players that goes missing at the crunch...I know he can step up.

Danny Meyer - will get his opportunity soon...the kid goes ok

Daniel Jackson - there's no place for him with Richo, Schulz, Patto on the forward line...the kid has ability...I'd have him on the bench every game...once Richo misses an easy goal...drag him for the rest of the game and put Jacko in the square.

Mark Coughlan - missing you Cogs

Jay Schulz - need him on the paddock every game...can mark, can kick...we can't afford him playing 4 games...then he gets injured...comes back 6 weeks later...he is a 60 goal forward for sure.

Adam Pattison - poor kid, having to be thrown in against experienced ruckmen...he is the future...he will be a 200 game player for the club

Andrew Krakouer - crunch year for Krakouer...has started off well...I just want to see him get the hard ball more when the game is on the line without him falling to the ground.

Carl Peterson - yet to be produced

Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls - not enough senior footy to work him out yet...potentially very good...why is it us that have bad luck with these youngsters in their early years.

Richard Tambling - like Krakouer must be prepared to put his body in at ground level when it's crunchtime...potential is one thing...but we need him to bleed for the jumper...needs to back himself with his pace more...he can be damaging...he is the future.

Chris Hyde - needs to step up...again when the game is there to be won...the spurt players are killing us...it's no good being good for 10 mintes here and there...we need 100 minute performers.

Greg Tivendale - Wallace has given him a second chance and I believe he is playing his best footy...I wanted him out 2 years ago but he has toughened up...great to see

Brent Hartigan - injury has forced him out in the past...once he regains full fitness he is up to playing consistent senior footy.

Cleve Hughes - again another that could be potentially good but hasn't been able to play through injury in the past

Matthew White - I liked what I saw of him last year...but it appears he hasn't come up as yet.

Will Thursfield - We all know he was beating Nick Rievoldt before he went down...need him fully fit and giving it another crack...we need him at fullback

Travis Casserly - yet to be produced

Luke McGuane - like what I'm seeing...playing these big games early will benefit him greatly for the years ahead.

Daniel Connors - yet to be produced

Kelvin Moore - he has come along leaps and bounds from previous years...he can hold a regular position in the team.

Nathan Foley - our best player thus far...he busts his ass week in week out...this is what I'm on about...going in hard at the ball in the crunch...potential champion

Andrew Collins - yet to be produced

Cameron Howat - I was impressed late last year but slightly disappointed with his disposal this year...with experience he'll be a regular and a good player for us.

Angus Graham - yet to be produced
Tasman Clingan - yet to be produced
Jacob King - yet to be produced

Overall through injuries to youngsters over the past 2 years...we haven't been able to gauge if these guys are any good as yet...and it's hurting us.

We need players performing with the same hunger Foley, Newman and Deledio are displaying and we'll win games. We have too many players contributing in spurts...it's killing us.

A tough draw ahead...we just need to give our all and the wins will eventually come our way.
