What a rocky road the Tigers are taking us on this year. Talk about heart stoppers!!

Here is a refresh of our year to date.

1--Lost to Bullies by 115
2--Lost to saints by 11
3--Lost to Eagles by 46.....Season over wailed the critics
4--Did the Lions by 14.
5--Bowled over the Blues by 8
6--Just got in over Dons by 2
7--Big loss to Swans by 118....All over for Tigers said some.
8--Fantastic win over Crows by 3...The premiership faves.
9--Gave the Cats a lesson by 20....Top 4 aspirants were the Cats
10--Done by Freo by 11... Not good.
11--Killed the Kangas by 35
12--Big fizzle against Hawks in Tassie by 41...Tigers gone some wailed.
13--Thrashed Maggies in wet by 47... Tigers final 4 hope now said some.
14--Big win against Port by 38...Entrenched in 4 said scribes.

What an up and down season?? The big question now is, whether we can give the Dees some curry. Who can tell, with our rocky season to date.

And we have already played interstate 5 times, plus 1 game in Geelong. There is still the Sydney trip to come, the rest are in Melbourne.

That loss to Fremantle is the one that still hurts the most I reckon. So many twists of fate went against us that night it was cruel.

No matter what happens, I don't think anyone is seriously considering us for a top 4 finish.

I thought the Freo and Hawks losses weren't too flash but then I think we've learned valuable lessons from those games. In the past we'd lie down and have a losing streak after such games. This year we come out firing the next game. All part of the valuable learning curve this season really is.

No matter where we end up there are probably only 2-3 people on here who'd whinge about our overall efforts this season. It's been far more exciting going to the footy anticipating a win rather than expecting a loss as we have in the past. All the while we're playing a far more entertaining style of footy.

Another bonus is that the kids are featuring in our best instead of being carried.

Things are looking very good but whoever the "scribes" are who said we're entrenched in 4 are dreamin' even though we're only one win behind Collingwood at the moment. ;D

.......

As "Weird Al" Yankovic sings (to the tune of Joan Jett's "I like Rock and Roll"):

I like Rocky Road..........

The Hawthorn loss was the probably the most definnig if that makes sense. They just thought they had to rock up to win and of course these days, that means disaster, with any team.

A big wake-up call.

I'd agree with this. It came at a good time of the season and reminded the players that they still have a long way to go before they can be considered a good football team.
To their credit though it appears they have learnt from it and so far taken that loss in the right way. Onwards and upwards.

interesting game this week. both us and melbnourne lost their first 3 games. both teams have made huge leaps forward since then. both teams are undefeated at the G this year. i think it's fair to say melbourne's list is ahead of ours at the moment, but that hasn't stopped us from beating more fancied teamsthis year. we're back on friday night footy this week... where we should be... and i can' wait!!!

the score worm would resemble a drawing of the himalayas

Or a lot of good fertiliser/pet food lacking the aquarium DDT. ;)

Agreed Mex...still, I can remember season's where we've lost a stack of close games in that fashion.

The only loss where I've been genuinely cross with the players themselves this year was the rd.1 loss...our lack of competitiveness and worse still, effort from senior players, was appalling considering we had practically a full squad available.

They've gone a long way to redeeming that in the time since...but I'm sure that effort will be wheeled out again prior to next season.

The loss that seems to rankle at Terry the most is the Hawthorn one, he's mentioned it at some point in his post match interviews the past couple of weeks. At least we do get a chance to redeem ourselves against the Bullies and the Swans.

There is nothing quite like losing a few games to focus the mind. This group is mentally stronger and hungrier than some of the teams we have put out on the field for a few years. They are doing OK and take their loses in the right manner- opportunities lost and opportunities to learn and do better next time.

There was a time when Richmond players did OK for a while but didn't believe they were good enough to come back from adversity too often in a season. No longer!

a clear trend are the losses to the "Birds" (Swan, Hawks, Eagles). The Tigers need a good intake of white meat (Get the taste up). 8)
