Just thinking, with people saying we couldent fit Judd into our salary cap. Not that i want him. But it begs the question, how much are our wooden spooners getting paid?
And would they be paid the same elsewhere? Shawly this could be an area that needs pruning.

My question is does anyone know what our individual players are on $ roughly ?
Does anyone else have an opinion on this? Are we well balanced as far as our player payments go?

jeez i thought bowden or one of the older players was not senior listed so we could stay above the tpp.

All clubs need to pay a minimum af about 92.5% of the cap unless they get special exemption from the AFL due to being on the AFL dole handouts.
Clubs also get about half a mill a year media/ marketing allowance that I guess they don't have to use if they have plenty of playing room in their cap.
Plenty of clubs are now fitting their players to outside business arraingements so that players can earn an income away from footy and get a skinnier playing contract.

That is becoming quite a science now, with wealthy club patrons like Carlton's Pratt "potentially" able to make a deal (via various associated business interests) a lot sweeter while still staying within the current AFL rules.

It's good to see all those resources that work out various tax dodges put to use in the AFL....... >:(

Isn't the competitive balance fund defunct now?

Just some clubs get more money pa than others based on a range of factors?
