great wide open
TW can give the boys a chance this week by scrapping the previous 3 games and telling the boys the season begins now.

We've faced up to the 3 in form teams of the season so far who combined have won a total of 8 out of a possible 9 matches. We've suffered severe injuries to our KPP backs but this creates opportunity for others.

We travel to Brisbane this week who are also looking severely injury depleted, but we beat them up here last year, and we can do it again now.

Our next 4 matches are all against teams we beat last season in Lions, Blues, Bombers and Swans and if we can get started against the Lions this week, we have every chance of evening up our win/loss ratio by round 6.

We false started in Rnd one, and no one really expected us to beat the saints or eagles. We got close on the Saints and WCE continue 10 years of dominating us over there, so it is all set to start OUR season right now with a good hard win over the Lions, and then backing it up with wins over the scums in Carlton and the Bumbers and we're 3-3 all of a sudden :) ;D

If we weren't coming off the Perth trip I'd be more confident of our chances.

The Lions are depleted in the big man stocks also with Leppa suspended and Bradshaw likely to miss with a groin injury.
Along side that they have had in fighting with Matthews and Akermanis's relationship strained at best. There are substantial cracks in this once great side and looking at their lineup on paper it's no where near as fearsome as it once was.

If we get flogged this week the season is a complete write off.
Forget the Carlton game, we have to be competitive against the Lions and probably should win, but i won't be tipping us.

not good by the AFL to give lions 2 extra days and us travelling twice in a row but what can ya do.....

have to win but so do lions, huge match really

ill go a draw

Here here I am afraid there season does start now so in the next 4 weeks they will 0 and 4. Very hard to make a case for these duds to win a game to be honest. Look for up to 10 files at seasons end stamped banned for life.

so the ferals think we'll be 0-10? so i may as well throw out my hummel polo and start packing for earthcore global carnival now?

Our season normally finishes after round 10 so it's going to be a short year! >:(

I can't recall a year with less hope so early... And I was there when we were down (remember those shirts!)

Must really hurt to be wrong.

However most of us would have been wrapped with 2-3 after the rd1 debacle.

Same old, same old. It doesnt hurt them, they're numbed. Real character in Tigers efforts after Round 1. Alot going against us including injury, tough interstate schedule, shorter rest time in last 2 outings. Alot of wrk to do but it's looking up. Im pretty excited for the future with some of the youngsters putting their hands up and performing so well so early.

Cheers

We've beaten the 2 sides that'll fight over the wooden spoon (inlcuding ourselves ;D), what's all the hoo-haa about. If we beat the Bummers, then I'll raise an eyebrow, but from the skill level I have seen so far this year, I don't expect miracles.

And either am I. A long way to go to get to the calibre of a game such as Port Adelaide and St Kilda last week. We will improve our skills, the younger players we have a re improving all the time. Ony 2 weeks ago however, some were saying the Tigers are the worst team in the competition. Well at the moment we're not, and it is our first 2 wins since Rd 14 of last year, so you have to take some positives out of that. Beating Essendon next week, wont make a lot of difference to respect as they look like they are struggling themselves.

As you say, lets not get ahead of ourselves, a long way to go.

Cheers

Agree with most of your post Good One, but i think you'll find we did win after round 14 last year.
