Our tatics & the Rolling Zone

bottom line....

Our HBF's and mids are too worried about turning the ball over. Period.
With this mindset, comes the over use of ball handling and therefore no fluency with moving the ball quickly to the advantage of our forwards.

Our fowards ended up leading to the pockets as that was the only space left, hence playing in the hands of Collingwood's tactics.Hmmm I wonder why we kicked so many behinds?

Maybe its time we have a member information night that includes presentations regarding the modern game?
(i.e. copying what Port Power are doing for their members?)

I apoligse if we do this already, but being in WA, its hard to keep in the loop.

"One of those was a members' information night this week when detailed presentations were provided by the coaching staff about the modern games.

At least some of the night was spent dissuading supporters from heckling players for kicking short and sideways to circumvent a zone defence rather than kicking it "down the guts" in the old fashioned way."

I think that is a fantastic idea. As you stated, it would get rid of the narrow minded supporters who think the coaching staff are a bunch of mongies........thinking they could do a better job..

I think it's time we invented our own tactic.
Terry's Triangle was ok but it's time for a new one that addresses our current deficiencies. Total Tiger Tackling or Terry's Target Hitters would work for me.
