After watching our last 2 games i feel that we are not employing the right tactics for our skill sets re the rolling zone, against Freo and again last night when we bring the ball in from the full back line and get between the half back line and centre we start chipping and hand passing the ball around hoping that the half fowards can get free and present for a quick & acurate pass which then destroys our foward line structure ,and it is not what we as a team are able to execute well, and the ball either gets turned over or even worse the chippers and procrastinators get run down from behind,BUT when we get the ball from half back through to the centre and run at the zone and kick over it to a structured foward line as we did in the third quarter against Freo we are playing to our strengths, which are stated as fleet of foot ball carriers and strong marking fowards, if we believe in our strengths and take the opposition on and kick over their zone before it can drop back into the foward line our fowards will then have at least an even chance of marking or roving the incomming footy and that should be enough for any foward,so please play to our strengths not some whiteboard fantasy , sorry about the length of the post.
