I'll post the results on Saturday afternoon, before the game. (Stats are accurate to the end of round 9).

Re: Who gets the most contested possessions per game?

Ill pick Jake King.

Re: Who gets the most contested possessions per game?

Sorry, I mean out of the players listed, who gets the most. I'll rephrase the question :D

yeah eigther newman or johnson

the ball spends so much time in our back line in might just be newman though! ;)

Probably Pettifer, or why else would he be on this list. Most of the possies in the backline haven't been contested and Sugar's contested possession rate this year is ordinary.

I agree, most people wouldn't even think about putting in that list so i think the only reason he would be is because he does in fact have the most!!

Johnson only cause he has played every game in the midfield & because he tags the other teams best midfielder would get a lot of ball in tight. If it's not him then Pettifer otherwise like the others said he wouldn't be on there & most of our defenders get uncontested possessions.

I'd say Kane but I'd like to also know what he's done with those contested possessions. :pullhair

General,
This seems a BS question given you haven't included Foley, our easily best midfielder this year.
I won't bother answering it.

Shers,

Obviously you haven't read the question. Out of this list, who is getting the most contested ball? I can add where he stands with respect to his half dozen later.

And the winner is ......... Kayne Pettifer.

He's averaging a huge 1.5 contested possessions a game.

Followed closely by:
Hyde with a fraction under 1 a game (0.9)
Raines with a fraction over 1 a game (1.1)
Kane Johnson with 1 a game (1.0)
King with 1 a game (1.0)
Newman with a fraction under 1 a game (0.9)

The leading ball winner at the club is now Shane Tuck, followed by Foley, Richardson and Pattison. Next comes Tivendale, Polak and Deledio.

What all this highlights to me, or rather reiterates exactly what everyone already knows is, if a squib like pettifer can get that much contested ball, and be so high up the clubs list (only Bowden and Schulz follow Deledio), then we really need to get some more people who can win their own ball. Too much is being done by too few (Tuck and Foley). Obviously we need some help in the ruck, but a ball winning midfielder must be close behind.
