Hi all altho i have been to Vic Park to watch the tiggies train, i havent been back to Punt Road since last year and i am now aware that we cant park in the car park anymore. Dumb question is where can we park?
Can we park just in G Car Park or do we have to leg it for miles.
I was thinking of going tomorrow so was hoping for some help in regards to this issue TA :)

You must get to training early GPB, every time I got there last year there was no parking left. I park up around Berry St and walk down. Not sure if you can park there while the Games are on. I think I read that the residents had to get permits.

Bit of a stupid situation for mine Jools why dont they just open up the G car park, there would only be 20 -30 cars absolute maximum.

The council would want to charge us, and there wouldn't be enough cars to make it worth while. They'd probably also say there would be too much wear and tear on the grass.
Thay wouldn't do it for free because others may park there who weren't going to training.

You usually can park free in one of the side streets off Punt rd for 1hr (2hrs if you go further up a bit further east). Dont know about any Games restrictions though.

So far there's no change to the parking conditions round here (side streets off Punt Road) although the material the State Government sent us is rather ambiguous. Pretty much all streets are 2 hour parking and they're all well signposted.

Of course you could do your bit for the environment and take the train...

;D That would involve looking up Bus timetable, walking to bus stop, waiting for bus, sitting with a bunch of annoying school kids (maybe!?) getting off at station, Trying to buy a ticket, being ripped off after it doesn't give you correct change (or worse gives you all in 20cent pieces)

*catches breath*

Waiting for the train, finally getting on it, although getting an old one with no air con, stopping at all stations. Sitting next to a drunk and then FINALLY get there!!

Then watch the mighty tiges train and do all above in reverse! :clap Fun stuff that catching the train.

I usually park next to richmond station when i drive in. 2 or 3 hrs i think it is, which is usually long enough. ;)

Buy your metcard at the milk bar.
Drive your car to your local station.
There won't be any schoolkids on the train at 10.00 in the morning. If there are, report the lot of them.
Drunks... not at that time. That's the time between them heading home on the early-morning trains and resurfacing for another day's drinking in the early afternoon.
Plus there are only six of the old Hitatchis left in service.
And you can't read a newspaper while driving a car. (Well, I suppose you could, but it's not really recommended.)

Keep the above for reference when petrol hits $1.50 per litre by the end of the year.  ;D
