Pattison is a sloooowwww draft horse........

please read above discussion on Patto's mobility.

I should emphasise I'm not against constructive criticism based on real events and facts.  Its just incorrect and ridiculous half cocked write-offs I don't like.  I was thinking about this the other day and how people could write off Patto after 1 or 2 games, I rembered J Brown's first 20 or so games.  I live in Bris so I see a lot of them.  He looked slow, lumbering and uncoordinated.  Friends of mine who follow 'em said 'what a dud',  I said hes big, they take more time to show a bit.

I saw Patto up close at Carrara and he looked mobile to me. He's down on the RFC website as 198, do you expect him to be bloody Aaron Davy?

Hi Phantom, did Francis Jackson take over Greg Beck position? Was he at the club before in another role?

From what I understand, Beck finished at the end of the 2004 draft. Miller stepped in the hold the position temporarily.
Francis Jackson was working at Brighton Grammar at this time, and finished his tenure there around November 2005. Jackson assumed the Recruiting Manager role then. Those who attended last year's predraft night had the pleasure of meeting with Frank. (Greg calls him Frank, I still think of, and call, him Francis.)

From what we know, the Francis & Greg friendship goes back to the South Melbourne days in the 70s. I've had the pleasure of meeting Francis a few times and he knows just about everything there is to know about every junior player going around. We're lucky to have Francis take up the job.

Regarding Patto, I had the pleasure of sitting next to him, for a short time, last night at the Club80 dinner. Up close, he has filled out a fair bit from what I remember him as a junior with the Northern Knights. Seems a really nice guy, and keen as mustard to do well.

Harts was there to, last night. His manner was different last night compared to the same function that he attended last year. Less reserved, more confident, more affable.
Ahh, they're all boys anyway, and good to see them feeling good about themselves. That's half the battle.
