''patto''

Was listening to David King last night when asked about what it'd be like to have someone big like Patto up forward.

His answer was pretty damning. Said words like:

Look, Patto isn't the most talented player going around, but we aren't expecting him to play like Richo. If he does, well that'd be great, but we don't expect it. We want him to be physical, we want him to apply defensive pressure, and we want him to be a target to kick to. We don't expect him to take many marks, but we'd expect him to present so Robin Nahas has a target to sit under. If he takes marks, then that's a bonus.

Patto... career over with RFC.

many say the over 30's to go but I see many of the younger players that need to go. Should not persist. He is trade bait (anything or delist).

Fine so play him consistently in the fwd line to let him show what he can do.

The bloke is the epitomy of a player who has no position in AFL footy cept a pich hitting 2nd ruck.

He is not a forwards backside at AFL level and not a ruck either.

A plodder and not the type to take the Tigers forward been saying it for ages, only those that are accepting of mediocrity want to keep blokes such as Plodderson.

Yeah he has a go so what battlers who have a go but lack ability do not win premierships, especially when they dont have a niche position.

Richmond aren't going nowhere........Keeping players like Patto.

Correct but the kid isnt alone he has about 12 - 14 mates that need to and be upgraded upon also

Would of been an OK player in the 1950's & 1960's!!!!

Further indication that the RFC lives in the past!!!!!

DUD!

Went to the Sydney practice match at Carrara on Saturday night. Encouraging performance as people have said on the match report thread. But the take-home message for me was A. Pattison. First chance I've had to really have a look at him. Very good effort from the young tall and I went home very excited about his prospects. The thing that really struck me about him was that his pace and work at ground level make him seem about Tuck's height. I don't think I've ever seen a bloke that tall who is that good at ground level.

Also, his kicking seemed fine, he hit his targets. Has pace. Gets himself into the right spot, and his agility seems well above average for his size. I know its only one game, but with all the big names from both sides playing, he looked right at home and will be a good player, and could be anything.

Gold post

fair enough

In my defence though, that was what I saw in that practise match, but do I mention marking? If he could take a good grab, he could possibly make it as a second string ruck. He can't take a grab at all, its ridiculous.

A short ruckman that can't jump, kick, or take a contested mark.

Only at Richmond.
