Percentage?

Dogs board on BLOS has the question, when is the last time a team won by over 100 points but still managed to miss the finals.

I wonder if we can turn that around and say, when is the last time a team go thumped by over a 100 points but still made the finals. ?

It is interesting to see how there has been a downward slide in kicking big scores and percentage over the last 10 years or so. In 1996, we missed the 8 but had a percentage of over 100%. And in 1998, we were a very good side, regularly kicked big scores and belted quite a few sides, and didnt lose 2 games in a row once! but still somehow managed to finish 9th. We got smashed by Melbourne in Round 22. That was easily the most heartbreaking end 2 a season I can remember. Was on on the verge of giving up following them.

i remember fitzroy flogged collingwood by 90+ points in 1990.

The only interest in Richmond's percentage this year will be whether it's the lowest every recorded in a season of VFL/AFL football. We're off to a great start!
