With the current baby boom in full swing there has never been a better time for Richmond to replace a lost generation of supporters.

Statistics show that in Victoria 70,000 births a year are having an enourmous effect on infrastructure's such as schools, hospitals etc.

As well as the baby boom Victoria is leading the way in terms of migration from overseas.

Richmond's pitiful years since 1982 have cost the club significantly. Supporters have dropped away in their thousands, many have been lost for good.

The significant advantage that Richmond has to replace and grow it's membership/supporter base is it's mascot, colours and Punt Road itself.

The people in charge, Wright, March and co need to determine strategies that can infiltrate schools, child care centres, shopping centres, playgrounds etc, etc to bring attention to Tigers and as a flow on effect, the Richmond Football Club.

While many believe a large part of our supporter base is dormant just waiting for consistant finals, we cannot rest on our laurels, a perfect opportunity exists to really cement 40k+ yearly members and 55k+ avearge attendances which will bring with it enourmous sponsorship.

Significant sums need to be spent in this regard, but in years to come our presence as a true powerhouse will never be questioned.

I think we have one of the highest junior memberships of all the clubs, or perhaps that was concession
Either way it looks like we have a few parents brainwashing their kids to follow the yellow and black
Just like drug dealers do, get em while they're young

The best strategy is on-field success. I can't believe the number of young kids walking around in Hawks jumpers at the moment.

Build it and they will come.

Agree Tony.
A bit of sustained on field success for 3 or 4 years should see the kids come on it droves.
Expect a shedload to be wearing the number 9.

A lot of kids barrack for the Tiges, cause of the mascot/colours/song

The aim is trying to keep them when they start to understand football and realise how bad we have been ;D

Some success will fix this

You'll be surprised how many kids at my daughters primary are Tiger kids!

Same at my son's primary school. My wife told me that when she dropped him off the other day for 'footy day' at school there were little Tigers everywhere!

Pity my son was wearing a Bulldogs jumper :-\. It seems Mum and best friends are more important than Dad!

And he still lives in your house ? Or have you installed a kennel out the back for him in an attempt for him to come to his senses ?

Panthera, I am seriously disappointed in you, and am currently weighing up calling in Child Protective Services >:(

Isn't there a law in place that states that the father dictates which footy club their children barrack for? Without being disrespectful, the mother has no business getting between father - children - footy...what is this world coming to :D

Too bad, bloody uncles pissing in their pocket and a headstrong son (gets it from his mothers side ;D ).
Rest assured I did my best. Haven't told 'em they're out of the will and it will be going to the mighty Tiges heh heh
oh, the choices people make. ;D

Baby boom or no baby boom I thought that Tigerjoes idea sounding ground breaking and a great idea ( I assume this hasnt been plagiarised froim soemwhere else?)

I'm doing my bit, raising two daughters as mad tigers.

Both can recite the list from memory, and have favorite players, albeit two who may have a limited future at the club.

Uncles?? All they contribute to a nephews/nieces upbringing is getting sh*tfaced at their 18th / 21st / wedding and embarrassing themselves. FFS, be a man, take control of the situation and get you little ones in black and yellow jumpers pronto ;)

Thanks tigertim.

No this hasn't been plagiarised from anywhere, I am genuinely concerned about the club's future.

Yes we seem to be on the right track now but who knows what the future or the AFL has in store for us.

Tap into the hundreds of thousands of kids being born now and sure up our next 100+ years, so my kids and theirs can follow a well run, affluent and successful team.
