PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

I feel compelled to write my first post after the horror weekend we all just witnessed. I attended the game, with some expectations, and was left gutted and generally disappointed by the effort my beloved Tigers displayed on Friday night. We were outplayed in all facets of the game, by a team at the peak of their football powers. I'm angry with the result, a result that can't be changed, but to read the negative comments on this site, makes my blood boil. There's no point laying the blame on certain individuals, it was a whole team effort, or lack of, that attributed to the smashing we received.
Then something happened in my life to put it all into perspective. The death of my grandad today made me realise that it's only footy. Life goes on. The death of a loved one, someone extremely close to me, is a million times more important than a game of sport. Be it a sport we all live and breathe. We still get to front up next week, to show some resolve, hopefully, unlike other people who won't be there to see it.
So please, don't jump of us, get behind the boys next week, and even if we lose, show some faith in the coaching staff and the players. They all need positive support, something that is seriously missing from the majority of people here, and hopefully we can be competitive, and give us something to be proud of. Go Tigers.
