As I said on another forum..Is Deledio out Dale Thomas ? Overrated...and performed moderately well. Not a champion by any length of the imagination. Hes done some nice things but goes misssing when we need him most. I cant recall him imposing himself on the game in the way a dynamic midfielder like say Judd, goodes, hodge or G ablett can do...I'd like to see that one day..after all hes supposed to be a number one draft pick. Perhaps theres 2 tiers of no 1s..Juddy and riewaldt and then Cooney and Deledio. Now if he could just win a brownlow...

For some reason Lids doesn't seem to stand out that much during the game. That's not to say he's not in the thick of it, but there is something about his style, composure or whatever that tends to cover his efforts.

It's one of the reasons I think it'll be hard for him to win a Brownlow no matter how good he gets.

Agree with that Baloo. I will be very surprised to see him win a Brownlow given his vote getting history wit the umps.

He's certainly missing the wow factor but I don't think he's overrated.

I partly agree with the original post.

One thing I do take comfort in is that for the first time in years we were actually able to outplay Geelong, still the benchmark of the comp, convincingly for a whole quarter. When was the last time we looked better than the best team in the comp for a whole quarter? Sure, we still can't play out a full game, we never have been able to under Wallace because he is a bad matchday coach. But at least we have the players capable of doing some serious damage to a quality team (even if it was minus their ruckman).

Carlton and the dogs I put down mainly to either bad gameplan or the players not being comfortable enough with the gameplan (leading to skill errors etc).

So we have a bad coach. That's OK. We only have to pay him until the end off the year, then we get a new one. At least the fact that we have honoured his contract (so far) means that the RFC coaching position could be a more attractive one than it has been in the past.
