PUNT ROAD END | Richmond Tigers Forum

To leysy the major difference in the sides yesterday wasn't Moore's poor misses or Morton's last minute panic that most are advocating.

It was our teams inability to setup correctly at stoppages & the lack of run we provided during the final stanza.

We lost all drive & impetus whilst Cousins was off the ground in that qtr. We stopped running, spreading & creating play when ahead or when the games on the line. This is has been a major bugbear of leysy for years & continues to cost us wins. This is also the major reason Cousins should definately be kept on next season (barring injury).

Our young mids can learn so much off him on these facets of the game. Because lets face it along with Rob Harvey he's been the pre-eminant footballer in this regard over the past 20 years.

A tape of Peter Burgoyne's last qtr should also be shown to our players. When Port needed a lift h was the player that took it upon himself to turn things around. Hitting packs at speed & delivering well. He near single handedly got them going in the last 15 minutes.

Saying that he shouldn't have been given that latitude. Does anyone know his opponent during this qtr? Leysy knows Jackson was sitting on him earlier in the match, biut cant recall the final qtr. Whoever it was let his side & teammates down by not initiating plenty of contact around the clearances.
